THE NATIONAL KIDNEY FOUNDATION'S 33RD ANNUAL MISSOURI CHILI COOK-OFF & SALSA COMPETITION

50+ professional and amateur chefs will compete for cash prizes for: red chili, green chili, and salsa, as well as People's Choice chili, vegetarian chili and salsa. The winning red chili chef will win $600 and the opportunity to compete in the International Chili Society's World Championship Chili Cook-Off, with a grand prize of $25,000.
Live music 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.: Johnny Rock-Itt, Whiskey Creek and the Shrinking Violets.
Proceeds support National Kidney Foundation of Eastern Missouri and Metro East programs.$5/person. Samples are 50 cents. Kids under 12 are free.

3RD ANNUAL SOYA & OILSEED SUMMIT: GROWING SUSTAINABLE OPPORTUNITY IN GLOBAL AGRIBUSINESS

Oilseed Industry leaders from around the world will gather in St. Louis for this summit.
A sampling of top-level speakers include: U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Undersecretary for Research, Education and Economics Dr. Gale Buchanan; USDA Chief Economist Joe Glauber; CME Group Managing Director David Lehman; Dow Agroscience Commercial Leader for Oils David Dziaszk; Sunopta Grains President Allen Routh; Cargill Vice President for Central Oilseed Processing Jim Sutter; and The Financial Times commodities correspondent Javier Blas.

FOCUS ST. LOUIS ORIENTATION PROGRAM FOR EXECUTIVES NEW TO THE REGION

Experience St. LouisÑIn partnership with the Regional Chamber and Growth Association, this program offers an enjoyable orientation for top-level executives and spouses new to the region. Meeting five times over a four-week period October 16-November 6, participants can quickly establish roots in the community. Participants are served four dinners (preceded with networking cocktail hours) and are addressed by key regional leaders. Participants are also given a Saturday tour of key sites in the region.
