The firm received the award in the category of Education and Training Electronic and Video Publications for its eLearning sales training program developed for AAA Missouri. SSE’s entry was among nearly 5,000 submissions judges evaluated for overall communications effectiveness and excellence. RESEARCHERS SAY FEVER AFTER VACCINATIONS MAY HAVE GENETIC LINK Researchers at Washington University have identified common DNA variations that underlie susceptibility to fever after smallpox vaccination. Most of the eight genetic alterations increased the likelihood of fever. The study raises the possibility that these variations may also influence fever risk after the live-virus vaccines for measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) routinely administered to small children. Eventually, researchers say, a test could be developed to determine who is at risk for vaccine-related fevers, perhaps preventing more serious complications. About 12 percent of children who receive the MMR vaccine develop fevers over 103 degrees, and about four percent develop seizures.
