LIPSTEIN NAMED NATIONAL GRASSROOTS CHAMPION
Steven H. Lipstein, president and CEO of BJC HealthCare, has
been named a 2007 Grassroots Champion by the American Hospital
Association. Lipstein was honored for his leadership in educating
lawmakers about the effects of state and federal policies on
hospitals and the healthcare system.
KLEIN NAMED PRESIDENT OF RANDOLPH COLLEGE
John E. Klein, formerly the executive vice chancellor of Washington
University, has been named the ninth president of Randolph College
in Lynchburg, Va. He officially began his term in August. Klein
joined Washington University in 2004 as executive vice chancellor
for administration after serving as CEO of Bunge North America
for 18 years.

COMMUNITY ADVISORY BOARD
Armstrong Teasdale Partner Steven N. Cousins has been selected
to serve on the Community Advisory Board for the Center of Ethics
in Public Life at the University of Missouri—St. Louis. The
center’s mission is to increase high standards of ethical conduct
and the ethical challenges that individuals face in public life.
GOV. BLUNT APPOINTS CHARTOCK TO HEAD
MISSOURI TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT COUNCIL
Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt has appointed Lewis C. Chartock, president
and CEO of MERS Goodwill, to serve as chairman of the Missouri
Training and Employment Council. Chartock has been serving as
Acting MTEC Chair for more than two years, following the resignation
of David Heath.
KING APPOINTED TO GLOBAL EDUCATION TEAM
Hulas H. King, director of global community relations & GO PLM
programs at UGS Corp., has been appointed to the International
Federation of Engineering Education Societies. An East St. Louis
native, King is also a decorated Vietnam veteran and a certified
manufacturing engineer.
SEN. DANFORTH HONORED WITH AWARD FROM
CATHOLIC THEOLOGICAL UNION
Sen. John C. Danforth, a partner at Bryan Cave LLP, received
a 2007 Blessed Are the Peacemakers Award from the Catholic Theological
Union, a graduate school for theology and ministry. Danforth
was recognized for his career as a U.S. senator, during which
he served as a presidential representative to Sudan to help
resolve the 19-year civil war. The awards are given to people
and groups that demonstrate bold peacemaking efforts around
the world.
SIMS JOINS RUBINBROWN AS PARTNER
RubinBrown has hired accountant Timothy L. Sims as a partner.
He has 16 years of experience, working most recently for Charter
Communications as vice president of tax. Prior to that, he worked
for 12 years at Arthur Andersen LLP.

Q10 Triad Capital Advisors has appointed Steve McAtee to senior
vice president. He brings 20 years of experience in the multifamily

NATIONAL CITY TAPS QUIROGA, GRABENHORST
FOR PRIVATE CLIENT GROUP
Maurice E. Quiroga and Michael Grabenhorst have joined National
City’s Private Client Group. Quiroga has been named executive
vice president and managing director for Missouri after serving
as the group’s market executive. He joined National City in
October 2004 as senior vice president and market executive for
St. Louis.
Grabenhorst brings more than 14 years of investment management
and trust experience to his new role as vice president and portfolio
manager. He most recently worked as a portfolio manager at the
U.S. Bank Private Client Group.
DIDION JOINS TRAMMELL CROW COMPANY
Jim Didion has joined Trammell Crow Company’s development and
investment operations as principal for St. Louis and Kansas
City, Mo. Didion originally joined the company in 1991, where
he was instrumental in establishing the brokerage unit for the
St. Louis office before moving to the development side of the
business in 1995.
FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF ST. LOUIS HIRES
DAPRON AS VP
Bill Dapron is the new vice president of credit underwriting
and bank card merchant processing at First National Bank of
St. Louis. He has been in the merchant card business since 1978
when he joined Boatmen’s National Bank as an operations officer
in their bank card department.
NOVUS INTERNATIONAL PROMOTES GASPERONI
Novus International Inc. has promoted Giovanni Gasperoni from
vice president to executive vice president of marketing and
sales. Over the past several years, Gasperoni has led the evolution
of the Novus product portfolio from animal dietary supplements
to complete animal health programs.
SSM DEPAUL HEALTH CENTER GAINS NEW PRESIDENT
Steven P. Johnson has been named president of SSM DePaul Health
Center in Bridgeton, Mo., and began his duties on July 2. He
previously served as president of SSM Rehab and SSM Behavioral
Health Services for SSM Health Care-St. Louis. He joined the
organization in 1996 as network vice president of behavioral
medicine.

Craig Saur is the new president of Clayton-based developer Conrad
Properties Corp. He joined the firm in 1996 as a project manager/financial
analyst and has been a principal since 2003.
KLIPPEL NAMED SIOR OF THE YEAR
The St. Louis chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office
REALTORS has recognized Allen P. Klippel Jr., first vice president
at CB Richard Ellis, as SIOR of the Year. The SIOR of the Year
award is given to an active member who has consistently committed
time and energy to the organization and made the greatest contributions
to the chapter during the previous year.
