State Treasurer Sarah Steelman was elected chairwoman of the Missouri Housing Development Commission. She replaces Gary Collins, who will remain on the commission. Rob Fulp of Springfield has been elected as the new vice chairman while Bill Luetkenhaus of
St. Charles became the new secretary-treasurer. Both positions had been vacant since January. Other commission members include Gov. Matt Blunt, Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder, Attorney General Jay Nixon, Anne B. Schmidt of Florissant and Jane Klieve of St. Louis.

The Missouri Biotechnology Association (MOBIO) has selected Kelly Gillespie as its new executive director. MOBIO is a statewide nonprofit trade association dedicated to development and growth of the Missouri biotechnology and biomedical industry. Before joining the association, he was vice president of governmental affairs with the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry for seven years.
In his new role, Gillespie will advocate for public policy that will support ethical, sound- science based medical research, development of a highly educated work force and a positive environment for creating, attracting, and retaining new life sciences business growth in Missouri. He will work to build upon the collaboration of the academic community and public and private life science sectors to make biotechnology a preeminent economic force in Missouri.

ST. LOUIS EQUITY FUND NAMES NEW PRESIDENT
John J. Wuest, former vice chairman of Heartland Bank, has been named the new president and CEO of the St. Louis Equity Fund. Wuest replaces Timothy D. Barry, who is retiring after holding the position for 17 years. Wuest is stepping down from his position as the organization’s non-paid chairman to assume the new role. Prior to 2004, he served as president and CEO of Heartland Bank for 15 years.
