ORLANDO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE EXEC RECRUITED AS RCGA VICE PRESIDENT FOR WORKFORCE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DEBBIE FREDERICK new vice president, RCGA Workforce and Economic Development Following a several month local and national search, Debbie Frederick has been recruited to the RCGA as Vice President for Workforce and Economic Development. Debbie comes to the RCGA following six years with the Orlando (Florida) Regional Chamber of Commerce, where she most recently was both Vice President for Community Leadership and WorkForce 2020 Project Manager. In her Community Leadership role, she managed the Leadership Orlando curriculum and program, a community leadership program similar to the Leadership St. Louis program in our own community. In her companion role as WorkForce 2020 Project Manager, Debbie directed the Orlando Chamber’s workforce development efforts. In Orlando, she also piloted the workforce program that was eventually adopted nationally by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. For the past several years, she has served as a workforce resource to other communities and chambers throughout the country through the U.S. Chamber. In her new RCGA role, Debbie will report to Senior Vice President for Economic Development Bob Coy, and will develop and implement strategies to meet the workforce needs of employers in the region, as well as strategies to attract and retain talent in the St. Louis region. She will join Bob Coy in staffing a research project being conducted by Professor Joel Kotkin of the Milken Institute to identify the issues the region must address to attract and retain talent.
