MIXING WORK AND BUSINESS AFTER HOURS

RCGA Business After Hours, among the longest running RCGA programs, continues to be one of the most popular programs for members who want to network and exhibit their products and services. Two recent RCGA Business After Hours events, held Thursday, June 20 at The Falls Reception and Conference Center and Thursday, July 18 at Color Art Office Interiors, attracted more than 200 members and guests at each event.

Barbara Wilhelm, RCGA Business After Hours Committee venue co-chair, and program director, Missouri Biotechnology Association (MOBIO), welcomes members and guests to the June 20 event held at The Falls Reception.

The Falls Reception and Conference Center nestled in the bluffs of Columbia, Ill., and its president, Kip Quevreax, hosted the June 20 networking event. The Falls offers a naturally elegant setting featuring stunning waterfalls, a tantalizing menu, and superior audio/video technology minutes from downtown St. Louis. Accommodating up to 600, The Falls is more than just another ballroom. Corporate visitors use a fully digital sound system, LCD projection, DSL connection and more. Big World Media Group keeps its studio within the center, and off-site catering has just been launched to satisfy those who want more than just a taste of The Falls. Conceived to fill a niche in the metro east marketplace, The Falls has quickly developed an area-wide following among those seeking professional amenities slightly off the beaten path.

Color Art Office Interiors, Inc., where architecture, furniture and technology meet to create effective working environments, and its chairman & CEO, Joe Steiner, hosted the July 18 RCGA Business After Hours. One of St. Louis’ newest state-of-the-art facilities, located one-half mile north of Warson and Olive in West St. Louis County, Color Art is a premier office interiors resource in St. Louis, providing high-tech office furniture and accessories, audiovisual systems integration, and interior design services. In conjunction with business partner Steelcase, Color Art has earned a leadership position through its simple equation of quality products, quality services and quality people. The event was presented in conjunction with the Technology Gateway Alliance and its inaugural TechConnect 2000.

Attendees also had the opportunity to meet Dr. Jim Logan, chiropractor and owner of Logan Racing, and see his sports car, the Casino Magic 500. Dr. Logan is the first African-American with sole ownership of a team to put a car in the field of an Indy Racing event. This stretches back to the first Indianapolis 500 in 1911.
