REUTERS NAMES FOX SENIOR VP, ADDS OPERATIONS IN ST. LOUIS

Reuters has joined a group of companies in St. Louis locating several mission-critical operations to the region. Reuters, more than 150 years old, is the leading global provider of financial information, news and technology solutions to financial institutions, the media, businesses and individuals.

Jim Fox has recently been named senior vice president, finance business services—the Americas. In this role, he will develop the Finance Business Services capability and organization in St. Louis, providing services to all internal customers in the Americas.

His previous experience includes project management of the Finance Business Services element of the Bridge integration program. Prior to that, he was vice president and controller for the Bridge business globally. He joined Bridge in 2001 after 10 years with Deloitte & Touche, LLC.

SYMPHONY SCORES MUSICAL COUP
WITH PERLMAN RECRUITMENT

The Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra has appointed violin virtuoso Itzhak Perlman as music advisor for the 2002-2003 and 2003-2004 seasons. In this role he will provide counsel on structuring future seasons, participate in the audition process and other aspects of orchestra administration, and conduct at least two concerts per season.

season. With a small committee of board members, staff and musicians, the Symphony is working hard to identify its next music director—the organization’s 13th since 1880.

“We are thrilled to work with Itzhak and have him as part of our team,” says Virginia Weldon, chairman of the board of trustees. “His artistic counsel and leadership over the next two years will enable us to conduct a more thorough search for our next music director and principal conductor. St. Louis is fortunate to have a musician of Itzhak’s stature commit his talent and energy to our orchestra.”

Perlman is well known to generations of St. Louis audiences, having first performed here in December 1966, and most recently in December 2001. He has appeared as conductor and soloist with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, Boston Symphony, National Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the symphony orchestras of San Francisco, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Pittsburgh, Seattle and Toronto.

On television, Perlman has entertained and enlightened millions of viewers of all ages on shows as diverse as “The Late Show with David Letterman,” “Sesame Street,” the Grammy awards telecasts, several “Live From Lincoln Center” broadcasts, and PBS specials “A Musical Toast” and “Mozart by the Masters,” both of which he hosted. Perlman has been honored with four Emmy Awards, most recently for the PBS documentary “Fiddling for the Future,” a film about the Perlman Summer Music Program and his work as a teacher and conductor there.

CID NAMES BAIRD DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH

director, Harold W. Siebens Hearing Research Center at Central Institute for the Deaf

Central Institute for the Deaf (CID) has announced Richard Baird, Ph.D., is the director of the Harold W. Siebens Hearing Research Center. As director of research at CID, Baird oversees both the Fay and Carl Simons Center for Biology of Hearing and Deafness and the Center for Childhood Deafness and Adult Aural Rehabilitation. Baird joined CID in 1998 as a senior research scientist and director of the Simons Center. In addition, he is the Spencer T. Olin professor of vestibular physiology in the Washington University department of speech and hearing and holds additional adjunct appointments in the University’s departments of otolaryngology and anatomy and neurobiology.

GALLOP, JOHNSON & NEUMAN NAMES PARTNERS AND ASSOCIATES

Four veteran attorneys have joined Gallop, Johnson & Neuman L.C. as partners, and two associate attorneys with the firm have been promoted to partner status.

Joining the firm as partners are:
  • Jeffrey Hunt, the firm’s Litigation practice;
  • Thomas Nutter, the firm’s Intellectual Property practice;
  • Virgil Hill, the firm’s Business Services department; and
  • Sandra Dannehold, also in the Business Services department.
Don Kelly, who concentrates his practice in commercial and product liability litigation, and Melanie King, who focuses on commercial litigation, have also been promoted to partner status.

RBG&CO. WELCOMES THREE PARTNERS; PROMOTES ASHER TO CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER


Michael Ferman, CPA; Frederick Kostecki, CPA; and Stephen Beluk, certified internal auditor; have joined Rubin, Brown, Gornstein & Co. LLP (RBG&Co.) as partners. In addition, RBG&Co. promoted Laura Asher to chief administrative officer.

Beluk brings 28 years of internal audit experience to RBG&Co. He has served as general auditor for Anheuser-Busch Companies Inc., and most recently in the internal audit services practice for Arthur Andersen LLP.

Ferman will specialize in financial and investment advisory services for the accounting and consulting firm. He has 31 years experience working in financial services, particularly with security brokers and dealers. Prior to joining RBG&Co., he was a managing director in the investment banking division at A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc. Ferman also served as partner at Touche Ross & Co. in both St. Louis and New York.

As a former senior manager at Arthur Andersen LLP, Kostecki worked in the firm’s audit division for the past 12 years. As a partner in the Assurance Services Group at RBG&Co., he will continue in his areas of expertise, specializing in manufacturing and distribution, technology and retail, with an emphasis on emerging and mid-sized, private or family businesses.

With more than 18 years of experience in human resources, Asher joined the firm in 1996. Previously, Asher held various positions at Mark Twain Bancshares Inc.

SCHROEDER-SAULNIER JOINS RIGHT MANAGEMENT AS VICE PRESIDENT

Right Management Consultants has appointed Deborah Schroeder-Saulnier as vice president, organizational consulting. She brings approximately 20 years experience in the areas of strategic alignment, leadership coaching and development, change management, sales and customer service, survey design and feedback process implementation, workshop design and delivery.

Prior to Right Management Consultants, she served as director of organizational development, training and communications for Ingersoll-Rand/Climate Control Sector, and president of Excel Consulting Group, Inc. Schroeder-Saulnier also has been an adjunct professor at Webster and Maryville universities.

Enterprise Financial Services Corp. has named Kevin Eichner as president and chief executive officer. He replaces Fred Eller who co-founded the bank with Ron Henges in 1988. Previously, Eichner was Enterprise Financial’s vice chairman. Eller remains as a director of the Clayton-based bank.

ST. LOUIS CVC PROMOTES MING

With his recent promotion at the St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission, Leo Ming is vice president of human resources and administration. In 1994, Ming joined the CVC as human resources manager for America's Center convention complex, and he was promoted to director the following year. His prior experience includes director of human resources at the St. Louis branch of the U.S. Postal Service.

MAHLON RUBIN
CPA, co-founding partner of RBG&Co. and 50-Year Honorary Member of American Institute of CPAs

Mahlon Rubin, CPA, co-founding partner of Rubin, Brown Gornstein & Co. LLP (RBG&Co.), has been named a 50-year Honorary Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Rubin is a former member of the Board of Directors and Governing Council of the AICPA. In 1996, Rubin received the association's highest honor, the Gold Medal for Distinguished Service.
