Area Charities

was pleased to divide more than $18,000 raised in a home décor auction
to two St. Charles County charities. Representing the recipients
(from left): Major Marc Johnson and Director Alleen Ford, Salvation
Army’s Family Homeless Shelter in O’Fallon, and Pat Kullik, director,

Though torrential rains came, it did not dampen the generosity of
the more than 250 people who attended the first Fischer & Frichtel
Benefit Auction. The event happened in June at Wyndham Meadows,
one of the homebuilding firm’s residential communities, in O’Fallon.
The 125 registered bidders found bargains among many display furnishings
and home décor items. They generated a net of $18,030, plus an additional
$75 through concession purchases.
Proceeds of the auction were divided between two St. Charles County
charitable organizations, Bridgeway Counseling Service’s Women’s
Center and Salvation Army’s O’Fallon Homeless Shelter.
Fischer & Frichtel employees joined volunteers in handling the auction
day activities. Jim Beardsley of Coldwell Banker/Lake St. Louis
served as event coordinator and auctioneer Lee Hollorah of Midwest
Auction Service donated hours of his time.
Several vendors and trade partners contributed products and services
for the auction, including: Ambassador Flooring, A.S.&W. Wholesale,
Authorized Builders Sales, B&R Truss, Bransen Electric, Donnelly
Interiors, EZ Cleaning Service, Frank Fischer/Design Aire, Metro
Lighting, T.L.C. Landscape, Villa Lighting, and Wholesale Building
