FONTBONNE UNIVERSITY OFFERS MORE OPTIONS TO WORKING ADULTS THROUGH TWO NEW PARTNERSHIPS

Brentmoor Retirement Communities President Barry Pessin (left) and Fontbonne University President, Dr. Dennis Golden, signing the agreement that will allow for a Fontbonne OPTIONS classroom to be established at Brentmoor Oak Tree Village, a retirement community located in St. Peters.

Fontbonne University has reached separate agreements with Brentmoor Retirement Communities and the City of Florissant to bring the university’s programs for working adults to more convenient locations. With its main campus in Clayton, Fontbonne University already operated a satellite campus in South County, and now will hold classes in North County and St. Charles County as well.

The partnership with Brentmoor expands Fontbonne’s presence in St. Charles County, offering classes at the new residential community of Brentmoor Oak Tree Village in St. Peters. In Florissant, the city and Fontbonne University have formed a private-public joint venture to bring the university’s OPTIONS and Weekend MBA programs to the James J. Eagan Center, where a classroom has been designated specifically for classes. Classes for both the Florissant and St. Peters programs started this fall.

“These types of cutting-edge relationships benefit everyone,” says Dr. Dennis Golden, president of Fontbonne University.

Florissant’s mayor, Robert Lowery Sr. added, “When I learned that nearly 18 percent of all Fontbonne University OPTIONS students were from Florissant and North County, it did not surprise me. I have no doubt that Fontbonne’s presence will be embraced by this community. Our residents have a need for convenience when it comes to their education and this partnership allows that. This is a fine example of the kind of public and private partnership that can really have an impact on a growing community.”

The Fontbonne University OPTIONS program is in its 12th year of offering adults accelerated business degree programs. All OPTIONS programs are designed to be more convenient and practical for working adults with busy lifestyles.
