Dr. Benjamin Ola. Akande, Dean, School of Business and
Technology, Webster University, was the featured speaker at
the RCGA’s Wednesday, September 18 Breakfast with the Gazelles.
The event was held in the University Center, Sunnen Lounge, at Webster
University and approximately 100 people attended the event. As the
Chief Academic Officer of the School of Business and Technology,
Dean Akande presides over one of the truly global business schools
and rigorously promotes excellence in business education. The School
of Business and Technology is comprised of three academic departments:
business, management, and computer science/mathematics. Dr. Akande’s
topic was “My American Journey.”
One of the St. Louis RCGA’s most successful Business Services programs,
Breakfast with the Gazelles, are offered throughout the year and
feature leading business, entrepreneurial and regional leaders talking
about issues and ideas that are important to entrepreneurs and those
with the entrepreneurial spirit. The featured speakers discuss the
risks they’ve taken, their strategies for success, and the lessons
they’ve learned.
The day following the Breakfast with the Gazelles, Orlando Gardens
Banquet & Conference Center at 8352 Watson Road in General Grant
Center, hosted an RCGA Business After Hours attended by approximately
150 RCGA members and guests. Other Orlando’s locations are 4300
Hoffmeister, 2050 Dorsett Village Shopping Center, and the newest
venue, The Lodge at Grant’s Trail, a wonderful bed and breakfast
facility. Orlando’s additionally offers gourmet box lunches, corporate
event planning and off-site catering. At the September 19 event,
Orlando’s provided outstanding food and refreshments.
RCGA Business After Hours are held monthly and provide an oppor-
tunity for members to network, exhibit their products and services,
and to enjoy the hospitality of another RCGA member.
