Leaders of the RCGA and its Technology Gateway Alliance held a two-day
strategic planning retreat at Innsbrook Estates in September.
Technology Gateway—the
St. Louis Regional Science & Technology Alliance—joined technology
professionals and universities to grow the development of the technology
economy in the St. Louis region.
Technology Gateway Alliance Chairman Dr. Chris Byrnes, Dean of the
School of Engineering and Applied Science at Washington University,
and incoming 2003 Alliance Chairman Dr. Rob Fraley, Executive Vice
President and Chief Technology Officer for Monsanto, led the retreat
discussions of the region’s technology future in IT and life sciences
by the Alliance’s executive committee. Roger Fritz of Leadership
By Design facilitated the idea-filled two-day session.
The Technology Gateway Alliance was launched in May 1998. The Alliance
is addressing the challenges of capital formation, work force development,
entrepreneurship and business development, and image and marketing
the St. Louis region as a center for the plant and life sciences,
advanced manufacturing, and information technology.
