Consultants Hires Grieman as Vice President
Mark Grieman has joined Right Management Consultants as vice
president of client services. Previously, Grieman held key positions
with Keystone Partnership, Boatmen’s Bank and Edward Jones. Grieman’s
role will be to enhance Right’s business partnership and grow market
share in the St. Louis area. With more than 200 offices worldwide,
Right is a human resources and organizational consulting firm.
Balke Brown Promotes Land to Senior VP
Commercial real estate development firm Balke Brown Associates has
promoted Don Land to senior vice president of development.
Land will be responsible for development and leasing of office and
industrial properties in Missouri. Land joined the firm in 1998.
He is currently working on The Highlands @ Forest Park, St. Louis
Commerce Center and Fountain Lakes Commerce Center. He was listed
in the St. Louis Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 in 2000.
Postiglione Become First Woman President of St. Louis Electrical
Board

T he St. Louis Electrical Board has installed Jacqueline Postiglione
as its president for the 2001-2002 fiscal year. Postiglione of the
Farnsworth Group has been a member of the Electrical Board since
1994 and is the first woman elected as its president in the organization’s
92-year history. She succeeds Roger Oertli of Guarantee Electrical
Construction Co.
Officers installed along with Postiglione were: First Vice President:

Schenk, Philips Lighting Co.Treasurer: Terry Sater, Sachs Electric

Reeg Appointed to Federation of Insurance Position

Kurtis Reeg, a partner at Kohn, Shands, Elbert, Gianoulakis & Giljum,
has been appointed chair of the Toxic Tort and Environmental Law
Section of the Federation of Insurance and Corporate Counsel.
The Federation of Insurance and Corporate Counsel (Federation) has
appointed Kurtis Reeg as chair of the Toxic Tort and Environmental
Law Section. Reeg is a partner at Kohn, Shands, Elbert, Gianoulakis
& Giljum, LLP.
Reeg has extensive involvement with the Federation. The organization
awarded him the 2001 Andrew C. Hecker Award, which is presented
each year to the Federation member who authored the most outstanding
article published in the Federation Quarterly during the
preceding year. Co-authored with Northwestern University School
of Law professor Marshall Shapo, Reeg’s article, “E-Commerce and
Products Liability: A Primer on Exposure at the Speed of Light,”
appeared in the Winter 2001 edition.
The Federation, founded in 1936, is an international organization
of elected members made up of practicing attorneys who devote a
substantial amount of time to representing corporations in defense
of civil litigation and corporate counsel.
Frisbee Joins Mosley Construction as Executive VP and COO

Mosley Construction Inc. has added Daniel Frisbee, P.E.,
as executive vice president and chief operating officer. With more
than 28 years in the construction industry, Frisbee comes to Mosley
after serving as vice president of R.G. Brinkmann Construction.
His expertise runs the full range of construction projects including
health care, education, retail, industrial, civil public works and
power.
Mosley has been on the St. Louis construction scene since 1979.
In addition to its St. Louis headquarters, the company has offices
in St. Robert, Mo. and Cahokia, Ill.
McKendree College President Receives Focus St. Louis Award

McKendree College President Dr. James Dennis is a recipient of
the FOCUS St. Louis 2001 “What’s Right with the Region” award.
Focus St. Louis has named Dr. James Dennis a recipient of
the 2001 “What’s Right with the Region award in the category “Creating
Quality Educational Opportunities.” Dr. Dennis is president of McKendree
College in Lebanon, Ill.
Gary Graham, mayor of O’Fallon, Ill. nominated Dr. Dennis for the
award saying, “During his seven years as president, McKendree College
has grown in size. And the college continues to pursue opportunities
to partner effectively with the greater community, enhancing programs
and resources for a number of organizations and initiatives in the
greater St. Louis metropolitan area.”
Dr. Dennis came to McKendree College in 1994 from the University
of Southern California where he served as vice president. Under
his leadership, both the physical size of the McKendree campus has
grown as well as the number of students enrolled. U.S. News &
World Report has ranked McKendree College as a “top tier Midwest
liberal arts college” in its 2001 survey in addition to recognizing
the institution as one of America’s 100 Best College Buys for five
consecutive years.
Focus St. Louis sponsors the annual awards program as part of the
non-profit organization’s ongoing effort to promote cooperation
in the 12-county region of the greater metropolitan area.
Obata Design Adds Three New Owners
As part of the Employee Stock Ownership Plan at Obata Design, three
vice presidents with the firm have accepted a stock offer from company
president and owner John Vandover. Chris Haller, Claudia
Moran and Rich Murphy will share management and ownership
with Vandover.
Murphy, vice president and director of imaging and electronic media,
has been with Obata Design since 1991. He has worked with many clients
planning, developing and implementing Internet and intranet projects
supporting e-business strategies.
Haller joined Obata Design in 1983 and is currently vice president
and director of design. He is responsible for both art direction
and managing print projects.
Moran, vice president and director of package design, has led Obata
Design’s brand development and package design for consumer product
manufacturing clients. She joined the firm in 1977 as a graphic
designer.
G.A. Sullivan Adds McCormick to Leadership Team
Internet software development company, G.A. Sullivan has hired Bill
McCormick to the position of senior vice president of sales
and marketing. G.A. Sullivan is emphasizing this area for global
sales growth, particularly for their growing presence in Europe.
He brings almost 30 years of experience to his role at G.A. Sullivan.
McCormick’s past positions in the IT field have included CEO, COO
and EVP at companies such as PaylinX/CyberSource Corporations, Sterling
Commerce, Shared Financial Systems and IBM.
Site Analysis Expert to Head New Services at Arcturis
Adding planning and landscape architecture to its expertise, Arcturis
becomes a full multifunctional design firm. Floyd Zimmerman,
Fellow, American Society of Landscape Architects, is heading the
new service group. Arcturis recognized the potential for the new
landscape architecture services when the firm teamed with Zimmerman
on a current client project.
According to Arcturis, Zimmerman is recognized as an industry expert
who literally wrote the handbook on site analysis for the American
Institute of Architects. In addition to his 21-year career with
HOK, Zimmerman’s past experience includes teaching at Harvard University
and the University of Michigan.
Arcturis has been in St. Louis since the firm opened in 1977. Their
corporate clients in the U.S. and UK come to Arcturis for architecture,
interior design, and workplace strategies, as well as the new site
planning and landscape architecture.
ASA Midwest Chapter Names McCoole as Construction Person of the
Year

The Midwest Chapter of the American Subcontractors Association selected
Bob McCoole, president of J.S. Alberici Construction Co.
Inc., as the Construction Person of the Year. ASA elects this award
recipient based on service to the industry and support of the organization.
“Being recognized by the ASA is very special,” McCoole says. “Circumstances
in our industry can strain good relations between contractors. I’m
proud to work through those circumstances and maintain trusting
relationships.”
Founded in 1918, Alberici is ranked as the 53rd largest contractor
by Engineering News-Record. In addition to it St. Louis headquarters,
Alberici has offices in Detroit and Atlanta. |
