Fru-Con Expanding with Civil Work Initiative and New Regional
Offices
As Fru-Con Construction Corp. is experiencing growth across the
U.S.; the St. Louis company is establishing new regional offices
and pursuing large civil projects.
Since late last year, Fru-Con has opened regional offices in Chicago;
Green Bay, Wis.; Lakeland, Fla.; and Woodbridge, Va., near Washington,
D.C. Each office is focused on pursuing and servicing specific types
of business.
According to Fru-Con, states are receiving increased federal funds
for large transportation projects through the Transportation Equity
Act for the 21st Century. In response, Fru-Con is drawing on its
long civil work history and resources from its parent company, Bilfinger
Berger AG, to increase the number of large bridge, highway and water
infrastructure projects.
As general contractor for the historical Eads Bridge over the Mississippi
River, Fru-Con built much of the St. Louis infrastructure from the
late 1800s to the mid-1900s. In recent years, Fru-Con served as
construction manager for the Grand Glaize Bridge in Lake of the
Ozarks, and as general contractor to replace two bridges along Interstate
44 in
St. Louis and Franklin counties. Currently, Fru-Con is completing
the Robert C. Byrd Locks and Dam in West Virginia. |
