Named Senior VP of Clark Properties

Alan
J. Ortbals has been named to the newly created position
of senior vice president of real estate development at Clark
Properties, a St. Louis-based commercial development company.
Ortbals, who has a master's degree from Saint Louis University,
was formerly the executive director of the Southwestern Illinois
Development Authority (SWIDA) since 1994.
In his new position, Ortbals focuses on Clark's 153-acre Alton
Center Business Park in downtown Alton, Ill. and other new projects
throughout the St. Louis region.
In recent years, SWIDA, a self-supporting, quasi-government
agency created to attract development to Madison and St. Clair
counties, has gained prominence for its key role in such projects
as Gateway International Raceway, the Crown Hotel at the Casino
Queen and Clark's Alton Center Business Park. The organization
has financed more than $335 million of development and has spearheaded
the creation of numerous tax-increment financing (TIF) and enterprise
zones throughout the counties.
Prior to joining SWIDA, Ortbals was director of economic development
for Granite City, Ill. and a commercial district manager in
the office of business development with the City of St. Louis.

Rebecca
S. Weaver

Rebecca
S. Weaver was admitted to the partnership in the tax and
legal services practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers. She has been
associated with PricewaterhouseCoopers since 1983 and is aligned
with the firm's personal financial services practice. Weaver
continues to have responsibility for managing the firm's local
practice, comprised of more than 20 professionals serving 400-plus
clients.
Tadd A. Fowler also was admitted to the partnership in
the tax and legal services practice. He has been associated
with PricewaterhouseCoopers since 1997 and is aligned with the
firm's international tax practice. He has more than 10 years
of international tax experience, including advising on foreign
acquisitions, reorganizations, foreign tax credits and cash
repatriation. Prior to joining the firm's St. Louis office,
Fowler was a senior international tax professional at General
Electric Company in New York.
Audrey L. Katcher became partner in the Global Risk Management
Solutions group within the audit and business advisory services
practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Katcher joined the firm's
St. Louis office as a staff accountant in 1990. She is an e-business
assurance leader for the United States, aligned with the Global
Risk Management Solutions practice, which combines in-depth
financial and information technology experience to ensure the
availability, integrity, confidentiality, effectiveness, compliance
and proper management of client operations and systems.
Rik J. Boren was admitted to the partnership in the Global
Risk Management Solutions group within the audit and business
advisory services practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Boren
joined the firm in 1994 and has more than nine years of information
systems auditing and security experience. His practice focuses
on the design and implementation of Enterprise Security Architecture
and providing end-to-end information security solutions for
large commercial clients. He currently serves as the firm's
Southwest Region Technology Risk Service practice leader, managing
a team of 32 professionals in a six-state region. Boren also
is the nationally appointed strategic leader of the Enterprise
Security Architecture Service within the practice.
Daniel T. Ladenberger also became partner in the audit
and business advisory practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers. He
joined the firm's St. Louis office as a staff accountant in
1988, was promoted to senior accountant in 1991, to manager
in 1993, and to senior manager in 1996. Ladenberger has spent
the last two years managing major components of PricewaterhouseCoopers'
internal restructuring initiative. This project will align with
the firm's transaction services practice, which provides a full
range of mergers and acquisitions-related services, from target
identification through post-merger integration.
Lori A. Caster also was admitted to the partnership in
the audit and business advisory services group. She joined the
firm's St. Louis office as a staff accountant in 1988, was promoted
to senior accountant in 1990, to manager in 1993, and to senior
manager in 1996. She is aligned with the audit and business
advisory services area and specializes in consumer and industrial
products as well as higher education.
Alberici Names President/General Manager of Hillsdale Fabricators

S. Alberici Construction Co., Inc. has named William Shawn
Pitt as vice president and general manager of Hillsdale
Fabricators-Alberici's 175,000-square-foot state-of-the-art
steel fabrication facility in St. Louis.
Pitt has overseen projects at Alberici since 1973. He has managed
major installations at DaimlerChrysler Corporation, Ford Motor
Company, General Motors, Missouri Department of Transportation,
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Coca-Cola Company to name a
few.
J.S. Alberici Construction Co. is one of the leading construction
services firms in the United States, ranked by Engineering News-Record
as the 56th largest contractor in the country. Founded in 1918,
Alberici provides general contracting and design-build services
to companies worldwide.
Influence Appoints Executives of Technology, Incubator and
Communications Divisions
As other cities search for a dot-com identity, St. Louis is
building upon its reputation as the "Gateway to the West" by
providing the necessary tools that Internet-based companies
need to thrive and survive.
Due to the overwhelming potential for e-business development,
Influence, LLC, the leading Midwest e-business solutions provider
and incubator, has recruited five new senior executives as part
of the continued growth of its technology, incubator and communications
divisions.
As president of Influence Incubator, Mark Heller is responsible
for the Influence, LLC incubator business, spanning idea valuation
through graduation and liquidity events for incubated properties.
Prior to joining Influence, Heller served as partner and managing
director for the St. Louis office of CSC Consulting, a division
of Computer Sciences Corporation. He was responsible for opening
the office and within a short period of time, built it to the
third largest technology and management consultancy in the St.
Louis market.
As chief technology officer, Keith Yahl will build and
maintain Influence's team of professional technologists, application
developers and network operations specialists to augment client
e-business needs. Previously, Yahl served as senior manager
of the advanced technology group at Arthur Andersen, where he
developed the technology consulting practice for the entire
St. Louis market, including planning, staffing, budgeting, marketing,
sales and engagement management.
Tony Puerto brings a proven track record in engineering
and information technology as vice president and chief technology
officer for Influence Incubator. His professional expertise
includes tenures with industry-leading enterprises such as Honeywell,
MEMC, Monsanto, Kellwood, EDS and Computer Sciences Corporation.
Mickey Bell, brought in as a resident CEO for start-up
companies within Influence Incubator, oversees and manages all
activities associated with his assigned properties in Incubator,
from conception through graduation. Bell is responsible for
nurturing the respective businesses to succeed as viable e-businesses
in the marketplace. Previously, Bell was president and chief
operating officer of Converse, and most recently president and
CEO of DHB Sports Group.
As a senior vice president of e-communications with Influence,
Birgit Spears is responsible for client liaison, corporate
strategy development and managing the e-communications team
to generate trade and consumer print, broadcast and online media
coverage for the company's e-business clients. These strategies
provide accelerated positioning that is integrated throughout
a company's business development cycle, establishing early corporate
branding for start-ups or re-establishing an existing brick
and mortar company's position within its industry.
Purcell Promoted to President at the Daniel and Henry Company
Thomas
J. Purcell, Jr., was promoted from executive vice president
to president of The Daniel and Henry Co., the 36th largest privately
owned insurance brokerage firm in the country. The company has
been based in St. Louis since its founding in 1921.
Purcell, who joined The Daniel and Henry Co. in 1976, will help
lead the company into a new insurance era and a new location.
The Daniel and Henry Co., which currently is located at 2350
Market Street, will move into its new facility at The Highlands
at Forest Park in January 2001.
The company will occupy about 40,000 square feet, or approximately
a floor and a half, in the 145,000-square-foot structure on
the former site of the Arena. For Purcell, the move to The Highlands
at Forest Park will be a homecoming of sorts. As a youngster,
he lived in Forest Park when his father, Thomas Purcell, Sr.
was the park's commissioner for the city of St. Louis.
CEO of MLS Homes Appointed to Salvation Army Board

MLS Homes
President Herbert M. Lesser was named to the advisory board
of the Salvation Army of St. Charles County. Lesser, past-president
of the Home Builders Association of Greater St. Louis, has been
an active supporter of the Salvation Army's humanitarian efforts
for several years.
"As homebuilders, I believe we have a special obligation to
do whatever we can to improve the quality of life in our area,"
Lesser says. "Unfortunately, there are many families throughout
the metro region that can't afford decent housing or even the
simplest daily necessities, and the Salvation Army's various
assistance programs can literally be a lifeline for them."
The Salvation Army has provided services to more than 17,000
needy individuals in the county during 1999, including food
pantries, homeless shelters, 43,367 meals, and temporary financial
assistance with rent/mortgage, utilities and medication.
Founded in 1989, MLS Homes has built more than 600 single-family
homes in St. Charles Country and is currently marketing its
award-winning design in five upscale residential communities.
HBE Appoints Sales Leaders, Electrical Engineer

C. Nass joined Hospital Building and Equipment Company (HBE)
as vice president of sales. He represents HBE's design-build
services to hospital and health-care organizations in the New
England States. Nass brings to HBE more than 14 years of sales
experience in the health-care industry. A native of Wisconsin,
he currently lives in West St. Louis County.

Thomas
C. White, Jr. has joined HBE Financial Facilities as a vice
president, representing the company's design-build services
to banks, credit unions and saving and loan associations in
California and Hawaii. An 18-year sales and marketing veteran,
White brings to HBE extensive experience in mortgage and real
estate industry competitive analyses, marketing strategy development
and corporate positioning. He lives in San Diego.

Scott Anderson

Gary Scott Anderson has been promoted to vice president
electrical engineering for Adam's Mark Hotels & Resorts and
electrical group leader at HBE Corporation. A 27-year veteran,
Anderson is responsible for the coordination of the development
of design criteria, electrical standards, calculations and construction
for all HBE Adam's Mark Hotels electrical systems.
A University of Missouri-Rolla electrical engineering graduate,
Anderson joined HBE in 1978. He has held positions of increasing
responsibility and was HBE's electrical project manager prior
to promotion.
