The Academy of Science-St. Louis has named the following new

LOURIE NAMED PRINCIPAL AT BUCKINGHAM
FAMILY OF FINANCIAL SERVICES
The Buckingham Family of Financial Services has named Stephen
J. Lourie a principal at the firm. A human resources veteran,
Lourie joined Buckingham in 2004 as the director of human resources
and will continue in that role. Previously he spent much of
his career at The May Department Stores Company.
ADVANTAGE CAPITAL WELCOMES NEW PRINCIPAL
Veteran venture capitalist Mark B. Lewis has joined Advantage
Capital’s St. Louis office as a principal. Lewis is part of
the firm’s investment group and initially will be responsible
for investments and portfolio companies in Missouri, Hawaii
and the Gulf Coast states. Most recently he was a partner at
Two Rivers Associates and its predecessor firm, Gateway Associates,
in St. Louis.
BLACKWELL SANDERS ELECTS FIVE NEW PARTNERS
FROM ST. LOUIS OFFICE
Wendy Boldt Cohen, Ryan S. Fehlig, Geoffrey G. Gerber, Anthony
Martin and Christopher A. Perrin have been elected partners
at Blackwell Sanders, effective Jan. 1, 2007. Cohen and Fehlig
joined the firm’s corporate department as associates in 2000.
Gerber first joined the firm as an associate in 1999 and then
returned in 2002. Martin and Perrin joined the firm in 2003
as associates in the litigation department.
KASS ELECTED TO ST. LOUIS ENTERPRISE
CENTERS’ BOARD
Jeffrey H. Kass, a partner at law firm Armstrong Teasdale LLP,
has been elected to serve on the board of directors for the
St. Louis Economic Council’s St. Louis Enterprise Centers.
HILL NAMED CHAIRMAN OF SAINT LOUIS ZOO
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Douglas E. Hill, senior partner at Edward Jones, has been elected
chairman of the Saint Louis Zoo’s board of trustees. Hill has
served on the board since 1999 and served on the Executive Committee
as vice chairman for the past two years. In that capacity, he
has been heading the Zoo’s Long Range Strategic Planning Committee.
Also elected officers of the Zoo’s board were Walter J. Galvin,
vice chairman-treasurer and W. Michael Ross, vice chairman-secretary.
HERRING PROMOTED TO PRESIDENT OF GLOBAL
SERVICES AT IMPACT GROUP
IMPACT Group has promoted Lauren Herring, formerly director
of international development, to president of global services
at the career management services firm. Previously, she was
responsible for the sales and development of IMPACT Group’s
global locations. Herring began her career with the firm in
2001 as an account manager.
PIERCE INDUCTED INTO OLD NEWSBOYS DAY HALL OF FAME
Barbara Pierce, president of Millennium Communications Inc.,
has been inducted into the Old Newsboys Day Hall of Fame, at
the charity’s Sixth Annual Golden Plate Award Banquet. Pierce,
who co-chaired the campaign’s new Fabulous 50 women’s initiative,
and four others were honored for their commitment to Old Newsboys
Day and the children in the St. Louis area.
The other honorees were Marvin L. Lindmark III, a partner of
Bobroff, Hesse, Lindmark & Martone PC; John Londoff Jr., president
of Johnny Londoff Chevrolet; Michael Jones, former St. Louis
Rams linebacker and founder of the Michael Jones Foundation;
and the Ameren Corp.
STERN BROTHERS & CO. NAMES NEW CEO
Terrence Finn has been named president and CEO of Stern Brothers
& Co. Formerly the company’s senior executive vice president
and corporate secretary; Finn brings 20 years of investment
banking experience to his new position.
GALLOP, JOHNSON & NEUMAN ELECTS THREE
NEW PARTNERS
Attorneys Jennifer R. Byrne, Angela N. Loehr and Francis X.
“Butch” Miller have been elected partners at law firm Gallop,
Johnson & Neuman.
CORO HONORS AT&T MISSOURI PRESIDENT
WITH TOP AWARD
The Coro Leadership Center-St. Louis has selected Cynthia Brinkley,
president of AT&T Missouri, to receive the organization’s top
leadership honor, the Mayor John H. Poelker Award. Coro will
present Brinkley with the award at the Coro Leadership Awards
Celebration on May 22. The award honors community leaders who
share the center’s commitment to excellence in public affairs
and who demonstrate a passion for neighborhood and economic
development in St. Louis.
BRYAN CAVE NAMES NEW COUNSEL IN ST.
LOUIS
Bryan Cave LLP has elected lawyers Amy Thompson and David Unseth
to counsel at the firm. Thompson has experience in state and
federal courts defending major corporations in suits that involve
breach of warranty, breach of contract, consumer fraud and tort
claims. Unseth practices in the areas of corporate restructuring
and bankruptcy, creditor’s rights and business finance.
FIRST BANKS INC. ANNOUNCES CHANGING
OF THE GUARD
At First Banks, Terrance M. McCarthy has been named president
and CEO, effective April 1, 2007. He replaces Allen H. Blake,
who retired on March 31, 2007.
McCarthy joined First Banks in 1995 when it acquired Queen City
Bank in Long Beach, Calif., where McCarthy was executive vice
president and chief credit officer. In August 2002, he took
over as senior executive vice president and chief operating
officer of First Banks, relocating to the St. Louis headquarters.
VOLK CONSTRUCTION BRINGS NEW CFO ON
BOARD
E. Gary Williams has been appointed Volk Construction Company’s
new chief financial officer after holding similar positions
with other privately held companies.
FLEISHMAN-HILLARD HIRES NEW VP IN MARKETING
COMMUNICATIONS
Angela Proctor has joined Fleishman-Hillard International Communications
as a vice president in the marketing communications practice.
Before joining the agency, Proctor was brand manager of Repel
and Cutter Insect Repellent at Spectrum Brands.

FLEISHMAN-HILLARD ANNOUNCES PROMOTIONS
Fleishman-Hillard has announced that two senior managers have
taken on additional responsibilities and the agency has hired
its first general counsel. Susan Veidt, general manager of the
St. Louis office, has been named regional director for the firm’s
offices in St. Louis, Chicago, Kansas City and Minneapolis/St.
Paul.
Jonella Donius, who is currently responsible for business application
systems and knowledge management, has been named chief information
officer.
Ruth Kim has joined the firm as its first-ever general counsel.
Previously, Kim worked as general counsel, vice president and
secretary of Valitas Health Services Inc. She has also worked
in private practice with Gallop, Johnson and Neuman and other
local law firms.
SLCC CHANCELLOR TO SERVE ON CAEL BOARD
Henry Shannon, chancellor of St. Louis Community College, has
been appointed to serve a three-year term on the board of trustees
of the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning. The council
is a national nonprofit organization that creates effective
learning strategies for working adults through partnerships
with employers, higher education, government and labor.
LOGSDON JOINS CLARK PROPERTIES
Clark Properties has hired accountant Jay Logsdon as chief financial
officer. He also will serve as chief financial officer for Clark
Logistic Services, Clark Painting Company and Eco Recycling.
Logsdon previously was a business owner and has held positions
with Arthur Andersen and RubinBrown.
FOREST PARK FOREVER ELECTS NEW BOARD MEMBERS
At Forest Park Forever’s annual meeting, Todd Epsten was elected
chairman of the board of directors and Dee Joyner was named
chairwoman-elect. Epsten is CEO of Major Brands Inc. Joyner
serves as senior vice president and director of organizational
development and community relations for Commerce Bank.
The board also added seven new members:
