OSBORN & BARR ANNOUNCES PROMOTIONS, NEW HIRES


Osborn & Barr Communications has announced several new hires and promotions. Hugh Whaley has been promoted to senior vice president after nine years at the firm.

Joy Johnson has been named vice president of strategic marketing. She was hired in 2003 to open the firm’s Des Moines office and will continue to manage daily operations at that office.

Marisa Snyder has been promoted to senior account executive on the contact relations team. She has been with the firm since 1999 in various account executive positions.

Michelle Hummel has been named senior account executive on the account services team. She previously worked as an account executive for the contact relations group.

Staci Falk has joined the firm as a senior copywriter. She previously worked for Drone & Mueller and Associates and Momentum in St. Louis.

Amanda Heth has joined the firm’s contact relations team as an account coordinator. She graduated from Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural communications.

Angie Hacker has been hired as team coordinator for the financial services group. She previously worked for the firm on a contract basis as a receptionist and financial audit assistant.

GOVERNOR BLUNT NAMES SIX FROM ST. LOUIS TO REFORM COMMISSION

Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt has named six St. Louisans to the newly created Government Reform Commission that will initiate a full review of state government and examine opportunities to restructure, reduce and eliminate state government functions.

The commission members from St. Louis are John Fox Arnold, attorney at Lashly & Baer; Cynthia Brinkley, president of SBC; Jerry Hunter, attorney at Bryan Cave; Kathleen Osborn, executive director of The Regional Business Council; Sharon Rohrbach, CEO of Nurses for Newborns; and Ray Wagner, vice president of Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

Blunt has charged the commission with examining each state department’s structure, efficiency and focused goals or duties and devising ways to make state government more effective, fiscally responsible and service oriented.

SITE IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION ELECTS BOARD OFFICERS

The SITE Improvement Association has elected the following officers for 2005: president—Michael Jerome, president of Bi-State Utilities Company; vice president—Thomas Milne, president of Oreo & Botta Concrete; and secretary/treasurer—Terry Daub, vice president of operations at Kirkwood Excavating. All will serve one-year terms.

The National Federation of Independent Business, the state’s largest small-business advocacy group, has named Speaker of the House Rod Jetton a “Guardian of Small Business” for his relentless support of small businesses. The award is presented to legislators who have at least a 70 percent voting record on issues deemed important by small-business owners.

“Representative Jetton has been one of small business’ most staunch supporters,” states Brad Jones, state director of the National Federation of Independent Business/Missouri. “As a small-business owner, he knows and understands the issues our members face every day and he brings that perspective to every piece of legislation before him.”

Rep. Jetton has a 100 percent voting record on such issues, according to the advocacy group.

MIDWEST BANKCENTRE— ST. CHARLES ELECTS TRENARY, GOSS TO BOARD

Midwest BankCentre—St. Charles has appointed Jim Trenary and Brad Goss to its board of directors. Trenary is the founder and president of Jim Trenary Automotive Group, and Goss is principal of the Law Office of Brad Goss.

Six employees at Shannon & Wilson Inc. have been named to new positions. Murray Meierhoff has been promoted to vice president after a 15-year career at the firm. He has served as the St. Louis office manager since 2003. Russ Schwab has been named a senior principal geologist and has been with the firm for 16 years. The firm also announced four other promotions: Rachel Goeke—level IV engineer, Rachel Hudson—level III lab manager, William Brewen—senior field technician, and Angie Battreal—level III lab technician.

EXPANSION


Chris Poehler has been named project director of the Cross County MetroLink Extension. He brings work experience on four MetroLink projects to his new job. Poehler previously worked for engineering firms that helped design the original alignment during Phase I of MetroLink and has since worked for Metro on the St. Clair County extensions.

CLAYCO FORMS FINANCIAL FACILITIES GROUP

Clayco has launched Clayco Financial Facilities, a new group that will focus on providing development and design-build services to the financial services industry. Led by vice president Paul Barrath, the team will include Tom Lombardo, Bruce Wolferding, Mary Smolar, Scott Florini and Clarence Steele.

Wartman has been a member of the company’s management team for nearly 20 years. Pocost joined Commercial Letter after spending 11 years at Spartech Corporation in senior management positions.

ENTERPRISE FINANCIAL RESTRUCTURES BOARDS
FOR HOLDING COMPANY AND BANK


Enterprise Financial Services Corp., the parent company of Enterprise Bank & Trust, has decided to restructure the boards for its holding company and legal bank. The holding company board is being reduced from 18 members to 13, with five members moving to the legal bank board and two retiring. The company is searching for two new members to fill the remaining holding company board openings.

Transferring from the holding company board to the legal bank board are Jerry McElhatton, James Wilhite and James Williams from St. Louis and Ted Murray and Steve Oliver from Kansas City. Ronald Henges and William Moskoff, both of St. Louis, are retiring from the board.

Attorneys Peter Barkofske and Jon Bierman have been named partners at the law firm of Gallop, Johnson & Neuman. Barkofske joined the firm in 2002 and practices in the products liability and litigation practice groups. Bierman specializes in labor and employment law. Prior to joining Gallop, Johnson & Neuman in 1998, he was a collateral liquidation specialist with GE Capital-Small Business Finance Corporation.

Law firm Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin has elected three new partners from the firm’s St. Louis office and has also expanded its practice with three new attorneys. The new partners are Saraann S. Witcher joined Blackwell Sanders in 1996 and primarily represents employers in employment litigation.

Gary A. Pierson II has joined the firm’s litigation department as an associate and will focus his practice on intellectual property litigation. For the past year, he has been associate counsel and director of advancement at Greenville College in Greenville, Ill.

At McBride & Son Homes Inc., Jeffrey M. Berger has been named general counsel and Fredrick “Skip” Stone has been promoted to land development manager for the company’s St. Louis division. Berger will oversee all legal matters affecting McBride and will also focus on the company’s land acquisition and development operations in St. Louis, Kansas City, Louisville and Atlanta. Stone, who has been with McBride for five years, will head the land development operations for the St. Louis market in his new role.
