SMITH NAMED PRESIDENT OF HNTB'S CENTRAL DIVISION

Scott Smith, P.E., has been named president of the 11-state Central Division of HNTB Corp., Smith previously served as HNTB’s chief marketing officer, principal-in-charge of the firm’s Kansas City and St. Louis offices and chief operations officer for the Central Division. He succeeds J. Lynn Hartford, P.E., who has assumed the position of president of the firm’s West Division.

According to Paul Yarossi, chief executive officer of HNTB Ltd., Smith’s responsibilities will include oversight of HNTB’s engineering, urban design and planning, and public involvement practices located in Kansas City and St. Louis; Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio and Houston, Texas; Overland Park, Kan.; Denver, Colo.; and Baton Rouge, La. Some of HNTB’s current regional projects include: the new I-70 Mississippi River Bridge; I-64 Reconstruction; Metro South-MetroLink Expansion; and Route 21 in Jefferson County.

Since joining HNTB in 1985, Smith has been involved in a variety of projects, among them the planning and design of the award-winning Ozark Mountain Highroad in Branson, Mo.; the Lake of the Ozarks Community Bridge; and the reconstruction of the Grandview Triangle in Kansas City. He currently serves as the consulting engineer to the Kansas Turnpike Authority.

HENKE PROMOTED TO GM OF GLOVER SMELTING DIVISION

The Doe Run Company recently appointed Daniel “Dan” Henke to general manager of their Glover Smelting Division. Since 1991, Henke has been the operations manager of Doe Run’s Herculaneum smelter. Prior to that, he was production manager and managed various departments throughout the plant. In his new role, Henke will report directly to Clif Gray, vice president of Primary Smelting Operations.

“Dan began his career some 23 years ago as a blast furnace assistant superintendent,” said Jeffrey L. Zelms, vice chairman, president and CEO of Doe Run. “Over the last 20 years, he has been involved in all facets of operations at the Herculaneum primary lead smelter. This wealth of experience will serve Dan and the people of the Glover primary smelter well.”

NAPOLI JOINS FIRST AMERICAN TITLE'S NATIONAL COMMERCIAL OFFICE AS VP

The new vice president and manager of First American Title Insurance Company’s National Commercial Services office in St. Louis is Nanci Napoli. Napoli brings more than 30 years of real estate industry experience to her new position. The National Commercial Services office opened in May of 2002 and specializes in handling highly complex, multi-property and multi-state commercial real estate including retail, multi-family, office and industrial transactions.

HUSCH & EPPENBERGER WELCOMES LAMKIN IN SPECIALTY PRACTICE GROUP

has joined Husch & Eppenberger LLC as Counsel in the Land Use Development and Financing Practice Group.

Lamkin is focusing on the areas of land acquisition, residential and commercial development, zoning and finance. He also has extensive transactional experience concerning mergers and acquisitions of privately held companies, as well as corporate organization and dissolution, as well as a background in the areas of complex insurance, reinsurance, and captive insurance company matters.

MECKES AMONG OFFICERS ELECTED AT CMT

Consulting Engineers

Crawford, Murphy & Tilly Consulting Engineers (CMT) recently announced that Daniel Meckes was elected vice president of the firm. Since joining CMT in 1983, Meckes has served as resident engineer, design engineer, project engineer and project manager on airport, highway and site development projects. Currently, he is co-manager of CMT’s St. Louis office, and serving as project manager for the design of I-44 widening and the relocation of slip ramps and improvements to outer roads in Fenton, Mo.

In addition, the CMT board of directors elected the following officers:
