At ITT, Das participated in the development of the VLSI-based telephone switching systems and workstation-based CAD systems. In 1986, he moved to Spectrum Digital Corporation as vice president of engineering. With the merger of Spectrum and Micom Digital, Das assumed the presidency of Micom.
