Infrastructure is an essential element of the region’s
economic development strategy. Established by RCGA in 2000, and staffed by RCGA Vice President for Infrastructure and Public Policy Susan Stauder, the
Private Sector Infrastructure Council identifies transportation needs for our 16-county, bi-state region, advocates for and supports projects to fruition. The Council is a joint civic venture of RCGA, Civic Progress, the RBC St. Charles, Partners for Progress, and the Leadership Council of Southwestern Illinois.
The Council will concentrate over the next year on critical infrastructure issues and actions to move forward with the new Mississippi River Bridge reconstruction, MSD Capital and Replacement Plan, Airport Experience Project, levee rehabilitation, secure sustainable funding for Metro operations and MetroLink expansion, develop state transportation resources for the future, and insure area business sector input to transportation decision-making processes.
