MCKEE HONORED WITH 2006 OUTSTANDING ENGINEER IN CONSTRUCTION AWARD

The St. Louis Chapter of the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers has awarded the 2006 Outstanding Engineer in Construction Award to P. Joseph McKee III, president and CEO of Paric Corp-oration. He joined the firm as an estimator in 1991 and is now the second generation to lead the company.

HBE Financial Facilities has promoted Tom Mooney to executive vice president. He is a 20-veteran of HBE and most recently worked as a project developer in the financial facilities division. In addition, HBE has named Richard Lalonde as vice president of operations and Stan Zielinski has rejoined the firm as vice president of project development. Lalonde brings nearly 30 years of construction experience to HBE and previously worked as a senior project manager with The Pike Company. Zielinski has 30 years of experience in the construction industry, 14 of which were with HBE earlier in his career.

NOBEL LAUREATE BORLAUG RECEIVES DANFORTH AWARD


Nobel Laureate Norman E. Borlaug

Nobel Laureate Norman E. Borlaug received the Danforth Award for Plant Science in recognition of his lifelong commitment to increasing global agricultural production through plant science. The award recognizes a prominent national or international leader for outstanding achievement and service in the conduct and/or advocacy of science for the benefit of agriculture, food, nutrition or human health. Also in February, Borlaug received the National Medal of Science from President Bush.

MARCH OF DIMES ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD MEMBERS

Anne Albrecht has been appointed chairwoman of the state board for the Missouri Chapter of the March of Dimes, which coordinates board activities for the five divisions comprising the Missouri Chapter. Also joining the state board are Joan Lee Berkman (nominating chair woman) and board members Ron Fromm, Pat McGinnis, Patrick Mulcahy, Angela Rightnowar, John Spesia and Betty Sims.

Assuming leadership positions on the St. Louis division board are John Spesia (division chairman), Debra Hollingsworth (secretary) and John P. Tvrdik (treasurer). Joining the St. Louis division board as new members are Adam Brown, David Ervin, Missy Lochiro, Douglas Morgan, Dr. Robert C. Packman, Dr. Karel Schubert and Kalika Sinha.

GLANVILL SELECTED TO LEAD MCCARTHY

Derek Glanvill has been chosen as the next corporate president and CEO of McCarthy Building Companies Inc. Glanvill will take over his new role in January 2007 following a six-month transition period with current president Mike Hurst, who is retiring in June 2007. Glanvill joined McCarthy in 1996 and is currently the executive vice president of the firm’s Midwest Division.

Paul Giacoletto has joined Clayco as a vice president and will oversee the company’s new residential business group. Previously he served as vice president for a St. Louis development company, where he worked with Clayco on projects such as the Annex Lofts and the Ely Walker Lofts. Earlier in his career, Giacoletto worked for Clayco as a senior project manager.

BLACKWELL SANDERS PEPER MARTIN ELECTS NEW PARTNERS

Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin has elected Sherry Gunn Hanlon, Mark E. Stallion, Douglas M. Worley and R. Prescott Sifton Jr. as partners. Hanlon, Stallion and Worley practice in the firm’s corporate department; Sifton practices in the litigation department.

The firm has also hired Dannae Delano as an associate attorney in its corporate department. Prior to joining Blackwell Sanders, Delano worked as an associate with two local law firms from 2000 to 2005.
