MOST ADMIRED LIST
Regions Financial Corporation once again has been named to FORTUNE
magazine’s Most Admired Super Regional Banks in the United States
list, coming in at No. 10 for 2006. And Graybar has achieved a high

their industries. Companies in 65 industries were evaluated based
on eight criteria: social responsibility, innovation, long-term

EVANS & DIXON ATTORNEYS NAMED MISSOURI LAWYERS
OF THE YEAR
Three attorneys with Evans & Dixon LLC are part of a six-attorney
team that has been recognized as Lawyers of the Year by Missouri
Lawyers Weekly. The six were honored by the publication for
voluntarily assisting state legislators who overhauled workers’
compensation laws in Missouri.
Evans & Dixon attorneys Michael Banahan, Robert Evans and Tim Tierney
received the honor along with Christopher Archer of Archer, Lassa
& McHugh LLC in St. Louis; Greg Carter of Blanchard, Robertson,
Mitchell & Carter PC in Joplin; and Bart Eisfelder of Foland, Wickens,
Eisfelder, Roper & Hofer PC in Kansas City.
The team award was the first of its kind presented by Missouri
Lawyers Weekly, which serves the state’s legal community of
20,000 lawyers. None of the winning attorneys were paid lobbyists,
according to an Evans & Dixon news release.
The publication also recognized four other local attorneys for their
overall contributions to their respective fields or for litigating
major cases during 2005. They are Beth Boggs and Gerald Carmody
of Clayton and Thomas Casey and Robert A. Wulff of St. Louis.
ST. LUKE'S NAMED A TOP 100 HOSPITAL
St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield was named one of the nation’s
100 top hospitals by Evanston, Ill.-based Solucient. This is the
sixth time in 10 years that St. Luke’s Hospital has received the
honor, making it the only hospital in Missouri to achieve the designation
six times or more.
The top hospitals emerged from Solucient’s 100 Top Hospitals: National
Benchmarks for Success study in the Feb. 27 issue of Modern Healthcare
magazine. The award recognizes hospitals that have achieved
excellence in quality of care, operational efficiency, financial
performance and adaptation to the environment.
According to the study, if all acute care hospitals performed at
the same level as the top hospitals, as many as 106,312 more Medicare
patients could survive and an additional 117,000 patient stays could
be complication-free each year. The study also found that Top 100
Hospitals treated sicker patients who required more complex treatment
yet had higher survival rates and lower costs than their peers.
