FRONTIER PLANS ST. LOUIS / MEXICO SERVICE
Frontier Airlines has announced its intention to expand its service
to Cancun, Mexico, by offering non-stop flights from Lambert-St.
Louis International Airport and other destinations outside of its
Denver hub. The company has filed an application with the U.S. Department
of Transportation for authorization to serve Cancun from St. Louis,
Kansas City International Airport and Salt Lake City International
Airport. Initially, the service will be offered only on Saturdays.
If granted government approval, Frontier would begin the Cancun
service on July 3, 2004.
In related news, Frontier has relocated its operations at Lambert
from Concourse A to Concourse D. Officials say the move will provide
passengers with easier access to gates. “Frontier’s growing presence
in St. Louis is representative of the renewed interest in this market,”
says Leonard L. Griggs Jr., director of the airport. “Frontier’s
move to Concourse D will expedite the screening process at our Concourse
A security check point.”
