Workforce
2000, first in the Regional Workforce Development Series will
be held on Thursday, June 1 at 7:30 a.m. at the Renaissance
St. Louis Hotel. This special program will address the number
one business issue at the national and local levels.
Richard
Judy, senior research fellow at the Hudson Institute and author
of Workforce 2000 and Workforce 2020, is the keynote speaker.
Judy will describe the population demographics behind the
"worker dearth" that the St. Louis region and the nation are
experiencing. His writings have appeared in such forums as
the Wall Street Journal, Washington Times, National
Review, International Executive and the Wall
Street Journal Europe.
Dick
Fleming, president and CEO of the St. Louis RCGA, will give
an update on the Workforce Development Regional Planning Initiative
and breakout session sessions following the presentation will
highlight specific workforce development topics and programs
that will help employers stay competitive in the 21st
century.
