Whitaker Music Festival
Nationally known, homegrown musicians and singers will perform
at the Missouri Botanical Garden’s Whitaker Music Festival.
Now in its 13th season, the popular music festival is funded
by the Whitaker Foundation, which supports St. Louis arts and
parks to promote common heritage, celebrate diversity and encourage
vitality within the community.
The festival is the only time that picnicking is allowed on
the Garden grounds. Pack a cooler or picnic basket or buy sandwiches,
snacks and beverages on site. Pets and barbecue grills are not
allowed.

The Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis presents Irish artist
Katie Holten in her first solo museum exhibition in the U.S.
Paths of Desire is Holten’s largest and most ambitious
exhibition to date, featuring a large-scale sculptural installation
and drawings that explore global ecology and the importance
of advocacy at a time of environmental crisis.

The Contemporary is also proud to welcome Shoot the Family,
a traveling exhibition of photography and video works by 15
international artists. Shoot the Family explores the
artists’ portrayals of their own families: photography and video
works of relatives and partners.

Water
The Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts’ new. exhibition
will engage the prevalence of water in the Pulitzer’s building
by addressing the range of responses that water has elicited
from modern and contemporary artists. Artwork by Max Beckmann,
Robert Gober, Roni Horn, Roy Lichtenstein, Richard Long, Henri
Matisse, Claes Oldenburg, Cy Twombly, and others will be exhibited
in relation to the building’s prominent watercourt and the space
itself, which was conceived as a fluid substance directed by
walls.
