MITEK ANNOUNCES SENIOR EXECUTIVE PROMOTIONS

MiTek Industries Inc. has promoted three employees to new positions to better address customers’ changing needs. Tom Manenti has been named president and will oversee the company’s business in the United States. He has been at MiTek for more than 27 years and most recently served as executive vice president.

Dick Marriott has been promoted to senior vice president of sales. He joined MiTek in 1979 and has served in several sales roles since then.

Steve Cabler has been named senior vice president of engineering and technical services. Cabler, who joined MiTek in 1978, previously worked as vice president of engineering.

GALLAGHER JOINS TRISTAR

Kevin Gallagher has joined TRiSTAR Business Communities in the newly created position of vice president of acquisitions. In his new capacity, he will oversee the company’s acquisition of office and industrial properties and build-to-suit opportunities. Gallagher previously worked as a vice president and principal at Colliers Turley Martin Tucker.

At Summit Marketing, J. Patrick Monteleone has been appointed director of strategic analytics in the company’s St. Louis office. He joined Summit Marketing in 2000 as a senior modeling analyst after working as a marketing manager for Gateway Federal Employees Credit Union.

FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF ST. LOUIS PICKS LANE AS SENIOR LOAN OFFICER

Barbara Lane has been hired by First National Bank of St. Louis as a senior loan officer at the bank’s office in O’Fallon, Mo. Before starting in her new role, Lane worked as a mortgage loan officer and also worked in real estate.

John E. Neal has been named the ninth president of Maryville University of Saint Louis and succeeds Keith Lovin, who retired in June. Neal has served as president of Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kan., since 2000. Prior to joining Ottawa in 1997, Neal was vice president for institutional advancement at Webster University in St. Louis.

Dan Sparling has been named Maryville University’s new dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Professional Programs. He has been at the university since 1975 and served as interim dean before deciding to become a candidate for the permanent position.

TWO NEW PRINCIPALS NAMED AT BUCKINGHAM ASSET
MANAGEMENT


Ken Katzif and Vladimir Masek have been named principals at Buckingham Asset Management. Katzif, who joined the firm in 2002, also serves as the company’s chief operating officer. He has held senior-level positions with Ernst & Young, Monsanto and Procter & Gamble. Masek joined Buckingham in 2000 while he was a professor of mathematics at Washington University in St. Louis.

ACME ERECTORS EXPANDS MANAGEMENT TEAM

Acme Erectors Inc. has hired Steve Faust as its new business development/project manager and Darlys (D.J.) Simmons as a
project manager. Faust is the former owner and president of SPF Group Construction and has worked as a project manager at both Legacy Building Group and Keystone Construction. Simmons previously worked as a project manager at Integra Construction Co.

promoted to branch manager at the 222 N. Highway 67 location in Florissant and Cheryl Collins has been named community banking officer and branch manager at the 1281 Graham Road office in Florissant. Fessler and Collins have 17 and 20 years of banking experience, respectively, and both women will plan, direct and manage the marketing, business development and sales activities at their branches.

Jill George has been selected as the new marketing coordinator at The Work Center Inc. She previously worked for St. Peters Bone and Joint Surgery as a workers’ compensation coordinator.

BURNS RECEIVES HEART OF HOSPICE AWARD

Dr. Edward Burns, medical director of Hospice at St. Anthony’s Medical Center, has been awarded the 2004 Heart of Hospice Award from the Missouri Hospice & Palliative Care Association. The award honors a person affiliated with a member hospice who went above and beyond the call of duty to enhance the quality of life for hospice patients. Burns won the award over 36 other nominees.

WAITS JOINS WOOLPERT’S SITE DEVELOPMENT GROUP


Tanner Waits has joined Woolpert as an engineering technician in the firm’s site development group. He will be responsible for preparing rezoning and annexation packages, site planning and construction documents.

REINKING PROMOTED AT HEARTLAND BANK

Heartland Bank has promoted Dave Reinking to vice president of community banking. Reinking joined the bank just over four years ago and served as the assistant vice president for commercial lending at the bank’s Sunset Hills office prior to his promotion.

Karen Luebbert, vice president and executive assistant to the president of Webster University, has been elected board chairwoman of the Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority.

Luebbert has been on the board since 1994 and previously served as chairwoman in 1997.

William Shaffner has been named vice president of client services. He will oversee the organization’s marketing and sales functions across the nation. Prior to joining MOHELA, Shaffner worked at American Student Assistance in Boston as the director of lender and strategic partnerships.

Wolfgang Althof has been named the Teresa M. Fischer Endowed Professor for Citizenship Education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Through the professorship, Althof will direct the Citizenship Education Clearing House, which helps young people become active in citizenship and government. Althof was a professor of education at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, from 1984 to 2004.

David Miller has joined Cannon Design as a vice president. Miller previously worked for HOK Construction Services in St. Louis and brings 18 years of experience in architecture and construction to his new role. He will work primarily in the pre-construction phases at Cannon Design.

VASS RETURNS TO COMPANION BAKING COMPANY

Tina Vass has returned to Companion Baking Company to oversee sales and creative service responsibilities for the company. She held the position for six years when the company was initially launched but then took a hiatus to work in the wine industry.
