KOPLAR NAMES KERBER DIRECTOR

Cynthia Kerber has been appointed director of public relations for St. Louis-based Koplar Communications International. Kerber will manage domestic and international public relations, media relations, community relations and marketing communications for the company and its affiliates. She has spent six years in the public relations industry, and prior to joining Koplar she spent four years at Blick & Staff Communications.

MEYER ELECTED NCADA PRESIDENT

The board of directors of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (NCADA)—St. Louis Area has elected Charles F. Meyer president. Meyer is a managing director of Bush O’Donnell Investment Advisors, and has served on the NCADA board since September 1998.

LIFE SKILLS NAMES SUTTON TO BOARD

Eddy Sutton has been appointed to Life Skills Foundation’s board of directors. He is currently assistant vice president of information systems with Laclede Gas.

BROWN, SAUNDERS, TRAVIS JOIN STANDING

Amanda Brown, Kristin Saunders and Melissa Travis have joined The Standing Partnership. Brown has joined the firm as an assistant account executive after serving as a media assistant at the Missouri attorney general’s office. Saunders worked previously in the international public communications group at Anheuser-Busch Cos. Travis is a client service administrator for the firm and most recently served as an account executive with Marketplace Magazine.

YWCA ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD

The YWCA of Metropolitan St. Louis has elected seven new board members: Lissa Hollenbeck, vice president for product support at Boeing Military Aircraft and Missile Systems; Gail Holmes, brand manager of retail presence at Energizer; Erica Moore, manager of communications and community relations at Centric Group; Sharon O’Keefe, chief operating officer at Barnes-Jewish Hospital; Lydia Padilla, president and franchise owner of TRC Staffing Services; Valerie Patton, executive director of St. Louis Business Diversity Initiative; Cherish Perry, student at Washington University in St. Louis.

Clayco Construction Company has added John R. Rippy as a project director and David R. Molamphy as a senior project engineer. Rippy will handle design coordination, preconstruction services and procurement of mechanical, electrical and plumbing subcontractors. He has more than 25 years of experience in building controls and mechanical systems and previously worked for C&R Mechanical Co.

As a senior project engineer, Molamphy will be involved with all aspects of the construction process, including estimating, design coordination, subcontractor/owner relations, scheduling and cost management. Prior to joining Clayco, Molamphy worked as a superintendent/assistant project manager for HBE Corp. in Iowa.

VORUZ JOINS HOLLAND CONSTRUCTION

Dianna Voruz has joined Holland Construction Services as director of business development. She has 27 years of marketing experience in the St. Louis metropolitan area and has served as president of the Society for Marketing Professional Services. She is also active in Commercial Real Estate Women, the Associated General Contractors, the Design-Build Institute of America and the St. Louis Council of Construction Consumers.

The accounting and consulting firm Anders Minkler & Diehl LLP has expanded its valuation and litigation services group with the addition of G. William Kennedy. Kennedy will serve as principal and co-director of the firm’s valuation and litigation services group. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Business Valuation Hall of Fame, as well as a finance professor and consultant. Previously, he worked as the director of valuation and litigation services for Reilly Consulting Group Inc. in Milton, Mass.

OSBORN & BARR SELECTS TURLEY, RIES-AGUILAR AS OFFICERS

Rhonda Ries-Aguilar and Michael Turley have been named the new CFO and chief marketing officer, respectively, at Osborn & Barr Communications. Ries-Aguilar will oversee all agency financial matters and focus on long-range planning. As chief marketing officer, Turley will be responsible for expanding the firm’s client base. He has been with the firm since 1991 and most recently served as agency vice president and director of Osborn & Barr’s Avant Group.

90.7 KWMU-FM HIRES SWARTZ

Laurie Swartz brings more than three years of sales experience to her new role as an account executive for 90.7 KWMU-FM. Before the radio station, Swartz worked as a sales representative for McGraw-Hill Higher Education. She has also worked at K.P. Wesseling, Maritz Travel Company and the Francis Howell School District.

Prior to joining UniGroup, Alonzo served as vice chairwoman of Thompson Coburn LLP’s bank and finance group in St. Louis and spent more than 20 years with the firm.
