St. Louis Speakers Series 2001-2002 line up



The St. Louis Speakers Series will kick off its 2001-2002 season on Thursday, Oct. 4 with activist Erin Brockovich, who was the subject of the Academy Award movie. Also headlining the new season will be legendary anchorman of the CBS Evening News Walter Cronkite (Nov. 1); former Secretary of State and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Henry Kissinger (Dec. 6); distinguished historian and biographer Stephen Ambrose (Jan. 31); Pulitzer prize-winning columnist and author Anna Quindlen (March 7); 12-time Emmy Award-winning writer, producer and entertainer Carl Reiner (July 4); and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Richard Holbrooke (July 25). The lectures begin at 8 p.m. and are followed by a half-hour of questions from the audience. The St. Louis Speakers Series, now in its fourth season, is presented at Powell Symphony Hall by Maryville University and sponsored by radio station KMOX, the St. Louis Regional Chamber & Growth Association and American Equity Mortgage.
