Ranken Jordan—A Pediatric Specialty Hospital has recognized Joseph P. Logan as the second recipient of the Mary Ranken Jordan Service to Children Award because of his long-standing commitment and dedication to the hospital. For more than 30 years, Logan served as the president of Ranken Jordan’s board of directors. He is currently a partner at Thompson Coburn LLP.

INTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL ELECTS COLEMAN AS TREASURER
The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) elected Denny Coleman, CEcD to serve as treasurer of the board for 2009. Coleman, an active member of IEDC, has served on the Governance Committee since 2006 as chairman of the Planning and Business Development Committee.

St. Louis County Economic Council for more than 18 years.
GRACE PLACE RETREATS NAMES DIEFENBACH AS
CHIEF RESOURCE OFFICER
John A. Diefenbach has been named chief resource officer for Grace Place Retreats, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting wellness programs for pastors and professional church workers.
Diefenbach most recently headed membership at the RCGA—a position he held for more than a decade.
Prior to his work as vice president of membership services and as sales manager, he worked for several corporations as vice president or executive vice president of marketing including May Company stores in a 25-year retail career.
BRYAN CAVE NAMES TWO NEW OFFICERS
David L. Fleisher rejoined law firm Bryan Cave LLP as chief operating officer after launching his legal career with the firm in 1990. Since 2005, he has served as vice president, chief financial officer and general counsel of Huttig Building Products.
The firm also has appointed Lisa Demet Martin chief diversity officer. Martin joined the firm in 1984 and became a partner in 1993.
HAINES NAMED CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER OF HEALTHDAY NEWS
Dr. Cynthia Haines has been named chief medical officer of HealthDay, an award-winning health and medical news service. Haines is a member of the staff and faculty of the department of family and community medicine at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
WALLACE REPLACES SMITH AS MANAGING MEMBER FOR BROWN SMITH WALLACE
Jeffrey Smith did not seek re-election after 25 years as managing member and Harvey Wallace was chosen to replace Smith.
Under the leadership of Smith, Brown Smith Wallace has grown to more than $25 million in revenue. Smith and Wallace co-founded the firm and will work together to ensure a seamless transition of duties. Wallace has over 35 years of experience in tax planning and business consulting and actively directs numerous engagements for the firm’s audit and tax clients. Wallace serves on the firm’s executive committee and co-chairs the firm’s Financial Advisory Services Group.

The Sisters of Mercy Health System has named Philip Wheeler senior vice president–general counsel. Wheeler previously served as vice president–general counsel. Prior to joining Mercy in 2007, he served as assistant general counsel for the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland.
