FORTUNE MAGAZINE PROFILES MASTERCARD’S “KEYS TO SURVIVAL”

FORTUNE magazine recently featured a piece about MasterCard Worldwide’s strategies for success for its FORTUNE 500 Series. “Mastercard’s Keys to Survival,” by Telis Demos, profiles MasterCard’s journey since going public in 2006 and examines its strategies to compete with Visa, attract more bank clients, and increase the number of consumers who will reach for their credit cards despite a tough economic climate.

The article notes that at MasterCard’s Global Technology and Operations headquarters in St. Louis, analysts “keep watch over the flow of nearly 20 billion transactions a year in 210 countries, more than the United Nations has members. When the matrix of green lights flashes a red spot, the money traffic controllers immediately reroute the transactions to keep commerce flowing.”

The complete article can be found online atwww.fortune.com.
