Take a tour of the traditional sounds of Scotland with Guest
Conductor Nicolas McGegan. Who better to lead you on a tour
the brave and patriotic music of this rugged and beautiful country
than one of Scotland’s own favorite residents? Scotland’s proud
musical heritage is world-renowned. McGegan follows the tradition
of Classical Detours set by David Robertson himself by sharing
personal anecdotes and insights into the music from the stage.
McGegan and SLSO violin soloist Angie Smart lead us on a musical
adventure through the sounds of Scotland for an exhilarating
evening of music that has captivated audiences for centuries.
Pre-concert bar and appetizers with beer sampling begins at
5:30 p.m. The one-hour concert begins at 6:30pm.

by “The Mighty and the Almighty,” which was published in May
2006.

with a public artists’ reception from 6 to 8 p.m.

award winner Sarah Frost will have her exhibit “Painting” in
Gallery III, and works from Teresa Holt, Keith Jennings and

The prolific and award winning author rocked the Muslim world
with the publication of his book, The Satanic Verses, resulting
in a fatwa, essentially a death sentence, being issued against

Clown.

MASTER THE MET
The American Lung Association is presenting the first-ever competitive
stairclimb event. This fun, athletic event will challenge participants
to climb the tallest building in downtown St. Louis— the 42-floor
Metropolitan Square building. Participants may run or walk each
one of the more than 1,000 steps on their way to a celebration
at the top. These “vertical marathons” are growing in popularity
and St. Louis is leading the way by hosting this one-of-a-kind
event in Missouri. Through team sponsorships and donations,
Master the Met participants will support the American Lung Association’s
fight against lung disease.
