  • Thirty-nine percent of St. Louis workers in Greater St. Louis travel from one county to another to get to work.
  • Sixty-one percent of Greater St. Louis
    workers live and work in the same county.
  • In downtown St. Louis, 40 percent of workers live in St. Louis County, 26 percent in St. Louis City, 25 percent in Illinois, six percent in St .Charles County and three percent from other counties.
  • Door-to-door commute time averaged 23.9 minutes in 2003.
  • 93.2 percent traveled to work in a car, truck, or van: two percent used mass transit.
