LAMBERT-ST. LOUIS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Lambert International is one of the busiest airports in the nation
serving all major U.S. cities and providing non-stop service to over
80 locations. Each day, over 374 flights arrive at and depart from Lambert. Lambert is the 23rd busiest airport in the U.S. in passenger traffic, and the 21st busiest airport in the U.S. in total movement. (Note: we have no flights to Europe, the only international destinations currently are to Mexico and Toronto, Canada). A $1.043 billion runway expansion/rebuilding program is currently underway at Lambert International, and will be finished by June 2006. This expansion will add a third parallel runway, improving capacity of the airport by approximately 50 percent. The runway expansion will improve Lambert’s ability to service existing and new carriers, by allowing simultaneous operations during inclement weather conditions.
The airport is approximately 15 miles from downtown. MetroLink, the region’s light rail system, provides direct access to both the Main and East Terminals.

MID-AMERICA AIRPORT
Mid-America Airport serves as the St. Louis Region’s second
full-service commercial airport and as a reliever to Lambert International Airport. Located in St. Clair County in Illinois, it provides state-of-the-art facilities for passengers, traffic, and cargo, including a foreign trade zone, and an adjacent 800-acre industrial park. Much of the area surrounding the airport is an Illinois Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District designed to help appropriate new businesses locate nearby. Mid-America is also located in Foreign Trade Zone 31. The Mid-America Airport is 24 miles from downtown, and is also served by MetroLink.
