Quality of Life
St. Louis is one of the nation’s best cities for health care. Our hospitals are nationally recognized and we have one of the best medical schools in the country. St. Louis hospitals are a magnet, drawing patients from all over the Midwest, particularly in the pediatric and cancer treatment specialties.
• St. Louis has over 30 hospitals, with over 10,000 hospital beds.
• The St. Louis health care industry employs over 60,000 people.
ST. LOUIS HEALTH CARE HONOR ROLL:
• Barnes Jewish Hospital was ranked the 8th best hospital in the 2004 U.S. News & World Report annual Best Hospitals issue.
• St. Louis Children’s Hospital was recognized by Child Magazine as having the 6th best children’s hospital in the nation.
