Cost of Living
The cost of living in St. Louis is the 6th lowest among the 20 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. The popular ACCRA index which measures costs of living for all metropolitan areas nationwide reported that in the 3rd Quarter of 2004, St. Louis ranks well amongst the other top 20 metropolitan areas, as shown below.

The Greater St. Louis area offers a wide variety of housing options for any price range. The median home price according to the U.S. Census is currently at $127,573 in the St. Louis MSA. A typical management transferee home-a 2,200 square foot home with four bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a family room and two car garage-can be purchased at an average of $229,325. St. Louis ranks well amongst other metropolitan areas, as shown below.
