Infrastructure
is an essential element of the region’s economic development strategy.
The Private Sector Infrastructure Council identifies transportation
needs for our 16-county, bi-state region, advocates for and supports
projects to fruition. The Council is a joint civic venture of
the RCGA, Civic Progress, the RBC, Partners for Progress, and
the Leadership Council of Southwestern Illinois.
The Council
will concentrate over the next year on critical infrastructure
issues and actions to move forward with the new Mississippi River
Bridge, keep St. Louis moving during I-64 reconstruction, secure
sustainable funding for Metro operation and MetroLink expansion,
develop state transportation resources for the future, and insure
area business sector input to transportation decision-making processes.
