Ameren Corporation has named Shawn Schukar vice president of energy delivery operations and the top operating officer at AmerenIP, the former Illinois Power. Schukar served as senior vice president of utility operations at Illinois Power before Ameren acquired the company. He had been with Illinois Power since 1984.
KLEIN SUCCEEDS MULCAHY AT ENERGIZER HOLDINGS
Energizer Holdings Inc. has announced that Pat Mulcahy will retire as CEO and Ward Klein took over the role following the company’s annual meeting of shareholders on January 25, 2005. Mulcahy will remain on the board of directors and will become vice chairman upon his retirement. Klein, who has also been nominated to the board of directors, has served as president and chief operating officer since January 2004.

Dr. Donald Suggs, president and publisher of the
St. Louis American Newspaper, has been selected as the 2004 St. Louis Citizen of the Year. The honor is sponsored by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and was
presented to Suggs for his lifetime of leadership and service to the community. Suggs, an oral surgeon by profession, became publisher of the St. Louis American Newspaper in 1984, and under his leadership, the newspaper’s circulation has grown from 6,000 to
nearly 70,000. The newspaper has earned national recognition for its journalism and captured the National Newspaper Publishers’ Association’s Russwurm Award as the No. 1 African-American newspaper in the
country for 2002.
