Monsanto has been ranked No. 12 among the top 20 biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies with the best reputations as employers, according to a recent study by Science magazine. The magazine lauded Monsanto for being an innovative industry leader, having a clear vision toward the future, and treating employees with respect. In the sub-category of “Best in Class: Innovative Leader in the Industry,” Monsanto was ranked No. 2.
To compile the rankings, Science commissioned a survey of readers and subscribers employed in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries to rate employers based on 42 attributes organized into seven categories: corporate image, financial prowess, leadership and direction, work culture/environment, work/life balance, academics and collegial exchange, and compensation and benefits.
ST. LOUIS-AREA ATTORNEYS NAMED IN THE BEST LAWYERS IN AMERICA
Seven local attorneys have been included in the 2005-2006 edition of The Best Lawyers in America, a publication that is considered a definitive guide to legal excellence. From the law firm Blumenfeld, Kaplan & Sandweiss P.C., John A. Blumenfeld, Jay A. Nathanson, George S. Newman, Harold A. Tzinberg and Leonard D. Vines are all mentioned in the publication. Blumenfeld and Newman have been featured for 20 and 10 years, respectively, in The Best Lawyers in America and will receive special recognition in the 2005-2006 edition.
Thomas Lewin and Sanford Neuman, partners at Gallop, Johnson & Neuman L.C., are also mentioned in the edition. Lewin is recognized in the corporate, mergers and acquisitions category and in the securities law category, and Neuman is mentioned in the tax law category.
The publication lists attorneys rated as “the best” by more than 15,000 of their peers in 30 categories of legal practice.
