FIRST NIGHT®
SAINT LOUIS RINGS IN A "RHYTHM OF THE NIGHT" CELEBRATION
IN GRAND CENTER THIS NEW YEAR'S EVE
Come one; come all to St. Louis’ most celebrated party of the
year! Ring, sing or dance in 2008 at First Night, the annual
visual and performing arts festival that celebrates the coming
of the New Year.
Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with a musical procession for
the opening ceremony at 6 p.m. Grand Center’s streetscapes,
parks, churches, theaters and performance centers will open
their doors to more than 65 indoor and outdoor presentations
and activities. Featured this year, are three performances of
St. Louis: The Operetta, a unique theater experience created
from both sound and image, created by the world-renown Squonk
Opera, a first in St. Louis! Fireworks display at 9 p.m. and
the grand finale at midnight.
Buttons will be sold at the event, $10 for adults and $5 for
children.

"BEYOND THE MAKER'S MARK: PAUL DE
LAMERIE SILVER IN THE CAHN COLLECTION"
This exquisite exhibition examines the career of the prolific
18th-century English silversmith Paul de Lamerie and celebrates
The Cahn Collection, which includes some of the most important
pieces of de Lamerie silver held in a private collection. Through
their variety, beauty and complexity, the 46 silver objects,
or groups of objects, in the exhibition explore the context
of the silversmith’s trade in 18th-century London

2007 GREATER ST. LOUIS TOP 50 AWARDS
The Greater St. Louis Top 50 is an awards program presented
by the St. Louis RCGA in conjunction with the St. Louis office
of Deloitte. Fifty winning companies are selected based on their
significant contributions to the St. Louis region and how they
have positively affected the future of our business community.
There are several ways a nominee’s economic impact will be measured.
These include, but are not limited to, growth in number of employees,
enhancement of the community, revenue growth, acquisitions and
expansion/development of facilities.
Winners of the 2007 Greater St. Louis Top 50 will be recognized
and presented an award at the annual awards dinner at the Hyatt
Regency St. Louis, One Union Station. This first-class event
provides an excellent opportunity to celebrate successes and
network with other members of our business community.

of State The 64th Secretary of State made history as the highest-ranking
woman to serve in the U.S. government. She is an expert on the
United Nations, global diplomacy, NATO, national security, and
foreign relations. Her autobiography, “Madam Secretary: A Memoir,”
was followed by “The Mighty and the Almighty,” which was published
in May 2006.

171ST RCGA ANNUAL DINNER AND MEETING
A review of the St. Louis region's accomplishments in economic
development, public policy and other areas, as well as a salute
to RCGA volunteers, the RCGA Board of Directors and inauguration
of 2008 officers, and presentation of the Right Arm of St. Louis
Award, will highlight the 171st RCGA Annual Dinner and Meeting.
The Capitol Steps comedy/political satire troupe will provide
lively entertainment for the evening.
