MATHEIS NAMED PRESIDENT OF ANTHEM BCBS
IN MISSOURI
Dennis Matheis has been named president of Anthem Blue Cross
and Blue Shield in Missouri.
Most recently he was vice president and general manager of group
business for the company. Matheis replaces Stuart Campbell.
In his new position, Matheis will oversee product and service
innovation, underwriting and sales for Anthem BCBS.
“Based on the contributions he has already made, I am confident
that Dennis’ strong leadership skills and extensive experience
will help the organization maintain strong growth in the Missouri
market,” Campbell says.
Matheis has 17 years experience in the health insurance industry
and has served in a variety of management roles. Before joining
the company as general manager, Large Group, Matheis was the
chief executive at Advocate Health Partners in Chicago. In addition,
he previously served as president and general manager at Cigna
HealthCare of Illinois, and as president of Humana Health Plans
of Kansas and Missouri. He previously worked in St. Louis as
president of Health Partners of the Midwest.

AWARD
SSDN, formerly known as South Side Day Nursery, has awarded
the 2007 SSDN Social Entrepreneurship Award to Arnold W. Donald,
president and CEO of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
SSDN honored Donald for his work as chairman of the Business
Diversity Committee of the Regional Business Council. The award

McGladrey & Pullen LLP has named Jenifer Wyss of the firm’s
St. Louis office as its newest partner. She joined the firm
in 1994 and has more than 12 years of significant audit experience.

NASLUND
Heartland Bank has hired Steven Pona as vice president of marketing
and promoted Mary Naslund to vice president of branch audit
and compliance. Pona is a former global communications director
for Thermadyne Industries. Naslund has been with Heartland Bank
for 11 years and was promoted from within the department of
branch audit and compliance.
KELLER JOINS ARMSTRONG TEASDALE
Tamara J. Keller has joined the law firm of Armstrong Teasdale
LLP as an associate in the real estate group. She served as
a summer associate at the firm in 2005 and earned her law degree
from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2006.
ROCHE JOINS U.S. BANK PRIVATE CLIENT GROUP
U.S. Bank Private Client Group has hired Allen A. Roche as vice
president and wealth management consultant in the firm’s downtown
St. Louis and Town & Country offices. He previously served in
trust management roles with several local financial institutions
and has 20 years of experience in the investment management
industry.

Paul K. Van Stone has been named president of Premier Bank’s
Chesterfield Banking Center and brings 14 years of banking experience
to his new role. He will manage the center and develop real
estate and commercial business in the area.
FRONTENAC BANK HIRES WEBB TO HEAD ST. LOUIS REGION
David Webb has been chosen as president of the St. Louis region
and senior lender at Frontenac Bank. He is a certified public
accountant with 28 years of experience, the last nine of which
have been with Pioneer Bank.
REIS NAMED CHAIRMAN OF ULI ST. LOUIS
J. John Reis, president of EVS Realty Advisors Inc., has been
named chairman of Urban Land Institute St. Louis for a two-year
term. He has been in the commercial real estate industry for
the past 28 years. The institute consists of 270 members involved
with all aspects of land usage in the St. Louis metropolitan
area.
PRAIRIE FARMS DAIRY APPOINTS NEW CHIEF
EXECUTIVE
Edward L. Mullins has been appointed executive vice president
and CEO of Prairie Farms Dairy. He joined the Midwest dairy
food processor and distributor in 1980 by working in retail
dairy sales. He is only the fourth chief executive in the 68-year
history of the company.
COVA JOINS EVANS & DIXON’S CIVIL PRACTICE
GROUP
Reno R. Cova III has joined the civil defense practice group
of Evans & Dixon LLC as an associate. He has two years of case
work experience in Federal Employers’ Liability Act defense
work, including cumulative trauma, neck injuries and transportation
incidents.

Daryl J. Tegtmeier has been named managing principal for Lincoln

Missouri and Southern Illinois. For the last four years, he
has been a partner at the local Thrivent Financial firm.
SISTERS OF MERCY HEALTH SYSTEM NAMES
McCURRY & MOORE
The Sisters of Mercy Health System has named Mike McCurry vice
president and chief information officer. Previously McCurry
served as vice president of resource optimization and president
of Resource Optimization & Innovation, an operating division
of Mercy. He has been with the Sisters of Mercy Health System
for the past 19 years.
Vance Moore has succeeded McCurry as vice president of resource
optimization for Mercy and president of Resource Optimization
& Innovation after serving as chief operating office for the
division. He joined Mercy in 2002 as vice president of performance
consulting.

Don Pratt, Jonathan Zigman and Melia Cothran have been promoted
at CSI Leasing Inc. Don Pratt, former senior vice president,

The Doe Run Company has named Theodore (Terry) P. Fox III as
its new chief financial officer. Fox’s experience includes stints
as controller of Bunge Limited and chief financial officer of

KOZENY-WAGNER APPOINTS NEW VP OF COMMERCIAL

Kozeny-Wagner Inc. has added engineer Wesley G. Villhard as
vice president of commercial construction. He brings 20 years
of commercial experience to his new job, most recently working
as a project executive with Paric Corporation.

FACILITIES DIVISION
HBE Corporation has enhanced its financial facilities division
with the additions of Dupree Davis Jr. as executive vice president
and Liz White as vice president of sales. Davis relocated to
St. Louis from North Carolina with 33 years of experience in
the construction industry. White has worked with financial institutions
in 18 states during 20 years of sales and business development
experience.
