INLAND WATERWAYS
The Highway of out Hertiage

The National Park Service presents an exhibit featuring the artwork of famed artist Gary R. Lucy. This 20-year retrospective of 90 original paintings and sketches by the Washington, Mo., artist captures America’s colorful history as it grew along the Mississippi and Missouri rivers. For the duration of the exhibit, the National Park Service will further explore the history, culture and legacy of our inland waterways with special programs scheduled throughout the fall.

Lucy is known for his historic interpretation
of river scenes, specializing in accurate
depictions of steamboats. In recent years
he has concentrated on a series of paintings portraying various aspects of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. This exhibit will mark the debut of the final work in that series entitled, The Vote.

Lucy is a recent recipient of the Sold on St. Louis Award, presented by the St. Louis Association of Realtors and sponsored by the St. Louis RCGA.
