As part of an increased focus on St. Louis regional construction,
McCarthy Building Companies Inc. has named Kris Anderson vice president
of St. Louis business development. Anderson, who joined McCarthy
in 1978 as a laborer, most recently served as senior vice president
and director of corporate marketing. He holds an MBA from Washington
University in St. Louis, and a bachelor’s degree in economics and
political science from Drury College in Springfield, Mo.
KAMINSKI NAMED TO FIRST NATIONAL BANK
First National Bank of St. Louis has appointed Thomas Kaminski to
the board of directors of its Des Peres location. Kaminski, executive
advisor for project development and finance at Conrad Properties
Corp., has more than 30 years of commercial banking experience.
Locally owned First National Bank of St. Louis has nine branch locations
in the region.

Gary
A. Giamartino, previously professor of management and dean
of the College of Business Administration at the University
of Detroit (Mich.) Mercy, has joined Southern Illinois University
at Edwardsville as dean of the School of Business.

At Detroit Mercy since 1997, Giamartino also had been a professor
of business administration and dean of the School of Business
at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., for four years
prior to his Detroit post. He was director of the Institute
for International Trade, Diplomacy and Develop-ment and a
member of the management faculty at Saint Joseph’s University
in Philadelphia from 1986 to 1993.
He earned a doctorate in 1979 from Vanderbilt University,
where he majored in social psychology, with related studies
in organizational behavior and theory in the Owen Graduate
School of Management. He also holds a master’s in psychology
from Western Kentucky University, and a bachelor’s in psychology
from State University College at Fredonia, NY. In addition,
Giamartino completed the management development program at
Harvard University in 1994.

Joseph Ransweiler has been promoted to chief financial officer for
St. Louis-based Adam’s Mark Hotels & Resorts. Ransweiler has 18
years of financial management experience in the hospitality industry,
including serving the past three years as controller for the Adam’s
Mark Hotel in Houston.

Ameren Corp. has appointed Michael Moehn, CPA, as vice president
of Business Services for its non-regulated subsidiary, AmerenEnergy
Resources. Moehn joined Ameren as assistant controller in June 2000.
Previously, he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers for nine years where
he was a senior manager.

The Sisters of Mercy Health System (Mercy) has named Jim Jaacks
to the position of senior vice president and chief financial officer.
Jaacks has served as vice president and CFO of Mercy since 1999.
He joined Mercy in 1991 as assistant controller and was named corporate
controller in 1995.

Seth Joy has joined Negwer Materials of St. Louis as vice president
of sales. Previously, Joy served as a regional sales manager for
Unimast Inc. in Chicago. With seven offices in Missouri and Illinois,
Negwer is the largest distributor of commercial building materials
in the Midwest.
