THE
RITZ-CARLTON IN ST. LOUIS RANKS IN TRAVEL + LEISURE SURVEY
A reader’s survey published in the September 2002 issue of Travel
+ Leisure magazine listed The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis as one
of the “World’s Best Business Hotels.” The annual survey asks readers
to “rate the quality of top hotels around the world for business
travelers,” based on rooms/facilities, location, service, restaurants/food,
and value.
“We’re thrilled
to have achieved this honor,” states Jonathan Campbell, general
manager. “The fact that our guests in St. Louis and across the continent
have voted us the best business hotel says a great deal about our
team’s dedication to service.”
Also, noted as “Best Hotel in the State” by Zagat and Conde Nast
Traveler, the 301-room Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis is a recipient
of both the AAA Four Diamond and Mobil Four Star awards.

Best
Companies for Working Mothers
|
According
to Working Mother magazine, 73 percent of moms with
kids under age 18 work outside the home. Among mothers with
children under age three, 61 percent are working mothers.
One topic
the publication watches for its readers is family-friendly
workplaces, even compiling an annual listing of “100 Best
Companies for Working Mothers.”
To make the list of “100 Best Companies for Working Mothers,”
eligible public and private firms complete a detailed application,
which includes questions about general employee population,
work/life policies, childcare options, advancement for women,
and company culture. Employers also submit supporting documentation
such as employee survey results and benefits handbooks. Working
Mother magazine uses an independent research firm to validate
the applications and rank applicants. For 2002, Working
Mother emphasized flexible scheduling, advancement for
women and adequate time off for new parents. In addition to
a listing on a detailed chart, the magazine includes brief
profiles on its 100 Best. All companies, including those that
apply but don’t make the list, receive comparative feedback
information.
