Niemeier
Named Associate Principal at Forum Studio

Thomas Niemeier, associate principal, Forum Studio Inc.
Forum Studio Inc. has named Thomas Niemeier as associate
principal. Niemeier has been Forum’s director of interiors since
1999. He is an award-winning designer with experience in all aspects
of interior architectural design.
Niemeier’s major St. Louis projects include office designs for American
Waterworks and Southwestern Bell/ASI; tenant planning for the CityPlace
campus in Creve Coeur; and advertising agency design for Maring
Kanefield Wiessman and Marketing Mix.
Forum Studio works in partnership with Clayco Construction Company,
through the design-build delivery process, and with other clients,
providing complete design solutions.
Andersen Announces New Partners and Principal
The partners
of Andersen-St. Louis, the local office of the global professional
services firm, announced the following promotions to partner and
principal:
Steve Stoffel was promoted to Partner in the Tax and Business
Advisory Division of the firm. Stoffel is the international tax
service line leader for the St. Louis office. A Certified Public
Accountant, he has been with the firm for nearly three years.
Paul Brown was promoted to Partner in the Business Consulting
Division of the firm. He has been with the firm for more than 22
years and has experience in providing consulting and business advisory
services in the areas of systems selection, systems development,
process reengineering, quality assurance and change management.
Laurie Hopkins was promoted to Principal in the Assurance
and Business Advisory Division of Andersen. She has been with the
firm for 17 years and is a CPA.
Smith Named President of the American Subcontractors Association
Michael Smith, design-build manager at Guarantee Electrical
Co. has been named president of the American Subcontractors Association
(ASA) Midwest Council. As president of the 6,000-member association,
Smith will chair the monthly board of director meetings, oversee
the ASA executive director and support the organization’s committee
chairs.
Smith has more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry
and has been an ASA member for 12 years. Previously, he has served
the association board as secretary and vice president.
XO Communications Introduces New General Manager to the St. Louis
Area
XO Communications Inc., a provider of integrated telecommunications
and broadband services, has appointed Dan Lappin as general
manager in St. Louis. Prior to this promotion, Lappin served as
XO’s Atlanta Sales Manager. XO is one of North America’s largest
holders of fixed broadband wireless spectrum, with licenses covering
95 percent of the population of the 30 largest U.S. cities.
VEIL Interactive Technologies Names Two to Key Positions
VEIL™ Interactive Technologies, provider of content-driven digital
solutions for interactive television (iTV), announced that Rockey
Flintermann has been named executive vice president, sports
and media business development. Also Yousri Barsoum has joined
the company as senior hardware design engineer.
Flintermann joins VEIL from Gamut Interactive where he marketed
business to consumer applications. His prior experience includes
roles as vice president of production for Madison Square Garden
Network and as vice president, operations and business development
for New York-based Dorna Sports Marketing. A resident of Winnetka,
Ill., Flintermann received a Bachelor of Arts from UCLA in Los Angeles,
Calif.
Barsoum brings 25 years of electrical engineering experience to
VEIL Interactive. He comes to VEIL from Datacom Solutions Inc. where
he served as director of engineering. He has a wealth of knowledge
in analog and digital circuit design and micro-controller systems.
He holds a doctorate of science and a masters of science in electrical
and bio-medical engineering from Washington University as well as
a bachelor’s of science in electrical engineering from Alexandria
University in Alexandria, Egypt.

International Inc. with headquarters in St. Louis. The VEIL platform
features advertising solutions that exploit the benefits of iTV
without requiring broadband connections or set-top boxes. The result
is an innovative way to rapidly bring to market new forms of interactivity

Blackwell Leads St. Louis IBM Team
IBM has named Joyce Blackwell as the new senior location
executive for St. Louis operations, which employs more than 1,300
in the St. Louis area. In addition to her responsibilities as Director
for Global and Americas Customer Satisfaction, Blackwell’s role
designates her as an IBM ambassador to St. Louis, serving as the
link between the company and the local community. She has more than
20 years of experience working in St. Louis in management, sales,
consulting, project management and systems programming.
Gallagher Joins Clayco as VP of Real Estate Services
Commercial real estate veteran Timothy Gallagher, SIOR, has
joined Clayco Construction Company as vice president of real estate
services and is based in the company’s Chicago office. Gallagher’s
20-year career spans all facets of commercial real estate including
brokerage, acquisition and disposition, tax-deferred trades, build-to-suit,
tenant representation, investment sales and property management.
At Clayco, Gallagher and the Real Estate Services Group will pursue
opportunities across the country with special emphasis on St. Louis,
Dallas, Detroit and Chicago, cities in which Clayco operates regional
offices. |
