YWCA Recognizes Achievements of Working Women
For 18 years, the YWCA of Metropolitan St. Louis has celebrated the achievement of working women. A YWCA tradition across the country, Leader Lunch is the only event of its kind that recognizes working women for the integral role they play in business, politics, education, science and technology, the arts, the professions and racial justice.
Each year, 10 extraordinary women are selected as Special Leaders and are inducted into the prestigious YWCA Academy of Leaders, which now numbers more than 185 women.
This year’s luncheon is chaired by Kathleen T. Osborn, senior vice president of the RCGA. “We are so pleased that this year’s luncheon will exceed all expectations in raising funds for the outstanding programs that the YWCA sponsors for women in the region.”

Drozda Returns To His Hometown to Market Fountain Place
With the construction of Fountain Place at Clayton, a $100 million, 150-suite residential development of ultra-luxury condominium homes, the St. Louis housing market is entering a new era of sophisticated high-rise living.
This makes Cliff Drozda, the newly appointed manager of Marketing of Bowman International Real Estate Marketing Directors, feel right at home. A native St. Louisan with extensive experience in the marketing of luxury condominium developments in major markets such as Chicago, Toronto and southeast Florida, Drozda is the marketing agency for Fountain Place, which will be located next to the Ritz Carlton hotel in downtown Clayton.
“St. Louis has been waiting for this quality lifestyle for some time,” Drozda says. “Fountain Place will be one of the most exciting and glamorous high-rise residential communities anywhere in the country, just a few blocks from the house where I grew up. Its location on Carondelet Plaza is superb—near the heart of Clayton, yet away from the traffic congestion generated by Clayton’s thriving commercial business district.”
With revenues surpassing $115 million last year, St. Louis-based MLP Investments, LLC, has joined forces with FRAMAmerica, LP, to sell and build the 29-story complex. Construction is scheduled to begin early next fall.
“The developers offer the best of modern construction materials, technologies and design, as well as exceptional community facilities, services and security,” Drozda adds. “This winning combination has never before been offered in this market.”
The base price for the one-, two- and three-bedroom condominiums, which range in size from 1,300 to 2,700 square feet, begin at $350,000 to $800,000. Larger suites and penthouses range from 3,500 to 7,000 square feet with a price tag of $1 million to $3.5 million. Special amenities include a large private garden deck with indoor pool, spa and fitness area, as well as a rooftop Sky Club overlooking the Clayton and downtown skylines.
Drozda first collaborated with Bowman International Marketing Directors in the mid 1970s in the marketing of one of the first major condominium developments in Toronto, a 450-unit landmark tower on Lake Ontario overlooking the downtown skyline. Drozda also marketed a 742-unit luxury tower in downtown Chicago overlooking the Yacht Club and Lake Michigan, which is considered the largest high-rise condominium tower in North America.
Drozda represents the fourth generation of a family who has been active in the real estate business in St. Louis since 1891. During the early 1980s, Drozda and his wife, Millie, marketed a series of condominium conversions in West St. Louis County and the Central West End, including Cambridge Court in Ballwin, Pierre Chouteau on Lindell (across from the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis) and the Executive House on West Pine.
