NAMES SANTANA VICE PRESIDENT, GENERAL COUNSEL

Nancy Santana has joined Save-A-Lot as vice president and general
counsel.
Save-A-Lot operates more than 1,000 limited assortment food stores
and 100-plus Deal$—Nothing Over A Dollar general merchandise locations.
In addition to managing the legal functions of Save-A-Lot and Deal$,
Santana will oversee the company’s outside counsel activities and
will work closely with the legal department of Save-A-Lot’s parent
company, Minneapolis-based SUPERVALU.
Prior to joining Save-A-Lot, Santana served as vice president, general
counsel and secretary to the board of directors for Petro Stopping
Centers, a national truck stop chain. She also has extensive experience
with the law firm of Kemp, Smith, Duncan and Hammond in El Paso,
Texas.

Enterprise Financial’s banking division has welcomed Scott Goodman
as senior vice president, commercial lending, at the Clayton location.
Goodman has nearly 15 years experience in serving middle market
commercial clients. Prior to joining the company, Goodman was with
the former Boatmen’s Bank and, more recently, with U.S. Bank, N.A.,
where he was vice president and senior relationship manager.

Frontenac Bank has appointed Rocco L. Russo Jr. to the bank’s board
of directors. Russo, currently a senior vice president with Frontenac
Bank and responsible for business development in St. Charles County,
has 20 years of banking and lending experience.

The Alliance for Regional Stewardship has elected Christine Chadwick
as the new board chair. Chadwick serves as the executive director
of FOCUS St. Louis. Chadwick will serve as chair for the 2003-2004
term.
“Chris is a champion of civic and regional interests and recently
served as vice chair for the Alliance Board of Directors,” states
John Parr, president and CEO of the Alliance for Regional Stewardship,
based in Denver. “We welcome the vast expertise and energy that
Chris brings to our organization.”
Chadwick is the founding executive director of FOCUS St. Louis,
a nonprofit organization that works to strengthen the St. Louis
region by developing leadership, influencing policy and promoting
community connections. In addition to serving as executive director,
she also directs the flagship Leadership St. Louis and Experience
St. Louis programs.

DOCTORATE DEGREES

Sr. Mary Jean Ryan, FSM, president/CEO of SSM Health Care, received
honorary doctorate degrees from two St. Louis-area universities
at 2003 commencement exercises in May.
The University of Missouri- St. Louis awarded the Doctor of Humane
Letters degree to Sr. Ryan and she was the speaker for the baccalaureate
ceremony at Lindenwood University in St. Charles where she received
the University’s Honorary Doctorate degree.
In 2002, SSM Health Care was named the first-ever health care organization
to win the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation’s
highest honor for quality achievement. Sr. Ryan, president of SSM
Health Care since 1986, is nationally recognized as a tireless advocate
for continuous quality improvement in health care.
Ryan received a nursing diploma from St. Mary’s Hospital Medical
Center in Madison, Wis., a Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing
from Saint Louis University and a Master’s Degree in Hospital and
Health Administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati. She
has been a Franciscan Sister of Mary for more than 40 years.
Sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of Mary and based in St. Louis,
SSM Health Care (SSMHC) owns, manages and is affiliated with 21
acute care hospitals and three nursing homes in four states: Missouri,
Illinois, Wisconsin and Oklahoma.

Maury Poscover of Husch & Eppenberger LLC has been honored as a
Distinguished Alumni by Washington University School of Law. He
is a 1969 graduate of the University’s Law program. The award is
given annually to an alumnus to recognize their professional achievements
and contributions to the community and legal profession.
A member of Husch’s Land Use Development & Financing and Corporate
Practice Groups, Poscover represents commercial financial institutions.
He is former chair of the ABA’s Business Law Section (1997-1998)
and past-president of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis
(1983-1984) and is the former chair of the Business Law Section’s
Commercial Finance Services Committee.
Poscover is listed in the 2003-2004 edition of Best Lawyers in America
in the areas of Banking; Business Litigation; and Corporate, Mergers
& Acquisitions, and Securities Law. He is a member of Husch’s Management
Committee and was Chair from 1987-1996.

KURTZ JOINS DCM MANAGEMENT
Former Brentwood Mayor, Mark Kurtz, has joined DCM Management Inc.
as a vice president. Prior to joining DCM, Kurtz served eight years
as Mayor of Brentwood.
