Geat American Corporate Dining is a St. Louis-based contract food-service and consulting company that has grown to more than $3 million annually since its inception in 1998. Great American provides food-service management and in-house catering to companies and office centers throughout the St. Louis area. Co-owners C. Nik Bushell and Jim Hessburg attribute their success, in part, to their working with local commercial real estate companies who help identify opportunities within national and international companies that are based here in St. Louis.

The company markets solely to upscale, corporate business clients, emphasizing service and quality. The monies spent by these clients is invested directly back into the St. Louis economy via wages paid to a superior staff that now exceeds 40 employees. “Our employees are what allows Great American to be a viable alternative to both national and international competitors based outside our region,” Bushell says.

In addition to serving client companies, Great American estimates that it will donate more than 10,000 meals in 2002 to Operation Food Search, a local charity that stocks more than 300 food pantries in the metro St. Louis area. And to minimize its impact on local landfills, the company is currently converting to more eco-friendly packaging.

Great American Corporate Dining is focused on developing the St. Louis market and expects strong long-term growth by remaining dedicated to its niche business sector. The company is currently looking for property in the west St. Louis County and Riverport/Earth City areas.

Audie Sisson

“Growing up my father’s example taught me that the way to live successfully was by exhibiting a good and honest work ethic, while demonstrating the true meaning of personal and professional pride.
