RCGAction The Monthly Newsletter and Planning Calendar of the St. Louis RCGA BioBelt Takes World Stage to 15,000 participants at BIO 2002 International Conference and Exhibition in Toronto The RCGA, Technology Gateway Alliance, and our regional and statewide economic development partners participated again this year in the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) 2002 International Conference and Exhibition in Toronto. For the third straight year, we marketed the region as the BioBelt—“the nation’s plant and life science center,” to 15,000 visiting industry leaders from throughout the nation and the world. In addition to prominent exhibit space, a special issue of St. Louis Commerce Magazine was published specifically for BIO 2002, focusing on the region’s successes and initiatives in this industry cluster. Also, Governor Bob Holden, regional business and industry leaders met with bio-related economic development prospects and visiting media.
