Leads Delegation to Meet National Site Selection Executives in Conjunction
with Symphony Carnegie Hall Event

spoke at the pre-concert reception on behalf of the RCGA and the
St. Louis region.
Once again, in February, the RCGA partnered with the Saint Louis
Symphony Orchestra in a business recruitment initiative in conjunction
with the Symphony's engagement at Carnegie Hall. Prior to the Symphony's
critically-acclaimed performance, the RCGA held a pre-concert reception
for 80 New York and St. Louis guests. The reception was hosted by
Governor Bob Holden and First Lady Lori Hauser Holden;
RCGA Chairman John Bachmann and Kay Bachmann; Enterprise
Chairman and CEO Andy Taylor and Barbara Taylor; Dick
Fleming, CEO & president of the RCGA and his wife Sarah Smith;
and a number of other St. Louis business and civic leaders.
In addition, the Governor and the RCGA held individual meetings
with national media representatives from Forbes, Crain's
Business, Fortune, Inc., Business Week,
and the ABC News. Governor Holden and the RCGA underscored the emergence
of St. Louis as the BioBelt, a world center of plant and life sciences,
during sessions with the editors and reporters of these national
publications and broadcasters.
Also participating as hosts in this business expansion and national
marketing initiative in New York City were other members of the
RCGA Board and the Greater St. Louis Economic Development Council,
including: Randy Adams, President, Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra;
Bob Kelley, President, St. Louis Labor Council, AFL-CIO;
David Kemper, Chairman, President and CEO, Commerce Bancshares,
Inc. The St. Louis contingency also included: Bob Coy, senior
vice president, RCGA; Carter Dunkin, director of communications,
Saint Louis Symphony; Diane Huber, Enterprise Rent-A-Car;
Lori Jones, partner, Lewis, Rice & Fingersh LC; Larry
Katzenstein, partner Thompson Coburn; Jo Ann Taylor Kindle,
president Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation; and Mary Strauss,
Fox Theatre.
