Vatterott College Promotes Dubuque to Regional Director

The private technology and technical trade education school, Vatterott College has named Carolyn Dubuque as regional director. She will manage operations for five Vatterott campuses, including Quincy, Ill.; Oklahoma City; Omaha-Deerfield-Spring Valley and Omaha-Dodge. Vatterott College has 17 campuses in the Midwest, serving more than 8,000 students.

Watlow Names Hoffmann VP of Business Operations

Dean Hoffmann has joined Watlow Electric Manufacturing Co. as vice president of business operations. He is responsible for plant operations and customer service, as well as the procurement and logistics aspects of the company’s supply chain.

Hoffmann comes to Watlow from Systemax, an Ohio-based manufacturer and distributor of computer products, where he served as vice president of finance and operations.

TRiSTAR Welcomes Waggoner as VP of Business Development

Kent Waggoner has joined TRiSTAR Business Communities in the newly created position of vice president of business development. He will focus on attracting national and international companies to TRiSTAR office and industrial properties, which includes Gateway Commerce Center in Madison, Ill.

Waggoner brings to TRiSTAR almost 20 years of experience in areas such as logistics operations, sales, marketing and industrial real estate development. Previously, he was with Airborne Express, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, and Telcobuy.com.

The Arts & Education Council Names New President

After a nationwide search, which drew more than 50 applicants from 25 states, The Arts & Education Council has appointed James Weidman as president. Previously, Weidman was director of development with the Saint Louis Art Museum and will now head the area’s largest private fundraising organization for the arts. He has more than 25 years experience in arts marketing, development and special events planning.

“We are indeed fortunate to have been able to find someone of this caliber with such significant experience in the St. Louis community,” says Steven O. Swyers, A&E board chair and managing partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

The Arts & Education Council, founded in 1963, receives no government funding. Instead, it relies on private and corporate contributions and foundation grants. Last year A&E raised more than $2 million in critically needed funds for more than 60 arts and arts education organizations in the community.

In addition to his new responsibilities at A&E, Weidman is the president of the St. Louis Regional Chapter of the Association of Fund Raising Professionals (AFP), which is holding its international conference in St. Louis this month.

Adam’s Mark Promotes Monroe to VP

St. Louis-based Adam’s Mark Hotels & Resorts has promoted Thomas Monroe to the new position of vice president of corporate affairs and minority business development. Monroe joined Adam’s Mark as minority business development manager in August 2000. In his new position, Monroe’s expanded responsibilities include community outreach, target marketing, employment diversity and oversight of Equal Employment Opportunity compliance. Prior to joining Adam’s Mark, Monroe was with Six Flags St. Louis.


Maryville Dean Earns National Honor

Dr. Lance Carluccio, dean of Maryville University’s School of Health Professions, has been elected as a Fellow of the National Rehabilitation Counseling Association. He is one of only 100 professionals in the 43-year history of the association to receive this honor.

Maryville named Dr. Carluccio dean in April 2001. He has been director of the School’s Rehabilitation Counseling program since the summer of 1999.
