DC Bound...RCGA
Leads Delegation
to the Nation's Capital
|
On Wednesday,
June 13, 2001, the RCGA will lead a delegation of 120 business
and civic leaders to Washington DC to discuss regional federal issues
for this year.
This trip is making a comeback. Last year, the RCGA led a smaller
delegation that met with the regional congressional delegation on
a one-on-one basis, which proved very productive. However, this
year’s trip will again be a large delegation that will hear from
a number of Washington insiders.
The delegation will hear from every member of the St. Louis regional,
bi-state representatives. We will also recruit several congressional
leaders, as well as members of the Bush Administration. This year’s
list includes: Vice President Dick Cheney; Senate Majority Leader
Trent Lott; Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle and chair of key
congressional committees.
The RCGA Federal Agenda includes restoring the Federal Historic
Tax Credit, broad-based tax relief, Infrastructure appropriations,
funding for the National Institutes of Health, pension reform, and
working with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on meeting
the region’s clean air goals.
Speakers in the past have included Vice President Dan Quayle, Senate
Majority Leader Bob Dole, and EPA Administrator Carol Browner. This
year will prove to be the best yet! For more information and details,
please contact RCGA Senior Vice President Jim Farrell at 314/444-1191
or Denise Hasty at 314/444-1134. |
